not sure if this is the right board to post in, so moderators feel free to move away if it is!

My question is this...trying to decide if I should purchase an annual pass for my daughter.

We are visiting in March and I had intended on purchasing an 8 day base ticket for her at a cost of 358. She is also going with her school in May and will pay 164 for that visit. If I purchase an annual pass for her that would be 800 roughly. Which would be 278 dollars more than I need to spend. BUT we are driving and so the cost to park each of the 8 days would be 160.00, leaving $118.00 remaining.

I've read that the annual pass includes memory maker? And a 10% discount on food/beverages in the world? Is this correct? Does it give a discount for any merchandise?

Any thoughts would be great!!

It does include Memory Maker now so that makes a big difference for us. I'm not sure about the restaurant discount. I know Disney Visa has 10% off at select locations. And you can purchase a Tables in Wonderland card for 20% off at most TS locations. There are discounts on resorts, tours and in shops as well. It does at up and sounds like it may be worthwhile for your daughter.

FYI for our school trip we were required to by the same ticket as other kids. Not sure if that is the same for you.

Memory maker - yes most AP passes include that.

There are some AP dining discounts at a few dining locations with date/meal restrictions. It is not across the board, not at QS other than I think Earl.

Disney spots are 10%, some DS 3rd party restaurants spots are 10-20%.

There is a shopping discount of 10% at most stores, a few non-Disney stores offer 15%.

Discounts also on hotel rooms, tours, special events, car rentals etc. Sometimes you have to be flexible.

Agree with PP to make sure she isn't required to use their ticket for the school trip or if it is included with no discount without it, would it make sense. My kids traveled with trips and they had to pay extra for their tickets but now my DS is a coach and their tickets are included in price to be paid.

Thanks for the feedback. I checked with the tour company and I will be able to deduct $225 Canadian ($165 American dollars roughly) off the price of my trip. This is for a three day magic your way ticket, so I am getting back less than gate price, but not sure if they were paying less in the first place. Just trying to see if I would save $118 in discounts on food and merchandise, to make it worthwhile. I would not normally by the memory maker, so that would be a bonus.

This will give you an idea of restaurants to see if you would eat there and if worth it. With the memory maker - your daughter and friends could have a great time with that!!

How old is your daughter? I know that pass holders can often get discounted hotel rates but you have to be 18 to book a room at Disney so IDK if you could use that discount. I'd look into that if it is something that you would use.

She is 15. I figured that would be no room discounts for us, but I'm thinking that everything else shouldn't't matter?

Everything else will be fine, they may even give you the discounts on food and should give you the discounts on merchandise if she pays. One thing I found with the discounts in park is some CMs will be sticklers about having your ID with you, some will accept showing them proof of your AP on the phone App. I think that it would be worth calling and asking about the room discounts. It seems to me that if she's in your room you should be able to get the discount. I know years ago we used to be able to get the room discount with a childs AP until they got smart and said that it had to be an adult.
