Our future trips are planned for November 2009 and June 2010. I am thinking that an annual pass is the way to go. I am confused on the year usage. Does the year begin when you purchase the annual pass or the first date of use? So I am not sure when I should purchase them.

As always, thanks for all the help!

It depends on how you buy the AP.

If you buy the AP from say DVC you don't get a AP, you get a voucher for an AP. Which then starts on the day you get the AP (not the voucher but the AP media it's self), which is done by going to Guest Services and turning it in for an AP.

If you go right up to Guest Services and buy one, then it starts that day.

Your AP use year begins the day you have an active pass. If you purchase a pass by phone or online you will receive a voucher that must be exchanged at any Guest Services window. Only when that voucher is exchanged does the use year begin. You can also purchase a "live" AP at Guest Services - just like exchanging a voucher, the pass begins that day.

We bought our AP's in August before the annual rate hike knowing it was coming and that we would not be going until October. Like the 2 pp stated you will get a voucher that when turned in is the day that it is active.
