I was looking into becoming a DVC owner and was crunching some numbers. Everything looked good until I factored in park tickets. When we booked a package for a week through disney at the BCV it was 1000 extra for a park hopper pass, water park, etc for a week for a family of 4. An annual pass from what I gathered for this is somewhere in the 400 dollar range per person per year. with the DVC discount. If we only travel once a year for a week we are way overpaying for that by getting an annaul pass. What other ways are there to purchase tickets for a week?

There are several discounted ticket brokers. Check out the Theme Parks Board for more information.

If you only vacation at WDW once a year DVC might not be the best bet for you. Do you plan far ahead? If you can't that is another issue also. Regarding the AP's - is there anyway to plan your trips so that you can fit in two trips during a year. Example: This year we go to WDW 1st week of April next year last week of March and get two trips in. Don't get me wrong I have never regretted buying DVC in 1996 the one, two and three bedroom units spoil you for any other type of accomodations.

As your children age your vacation habits will also change.
