Hey! I don't think this has been asked... or at least I haven't seen the answer to it! For those of you who have activated your annual pass, did you get a "hard" credit card like annual pass mailed to you? We activated ours but just got the little flimsy cards. I thought that we would get a hard card later on since flimsy ones don't seem to hold up that well. Also, same question with the DDE card. We just have the flimsy one for that too. Anybody know if we just didn't get ours or something? :confused3 We activated our annual passes and got the DDE card back in the beginning of May. Thanks! :)

When I activated my AP we got the flimsy cards. I just renewed my AP, and I recieved a hard card but it's just a voucure. I will have to wait until my trip to get the actual AP. I think they are all the flimsy cards.

My DDE card is a hard card. I ordered it over the phone, and they mailed it to our home.

we got those paper things that look like business cards. i think i lost mine though, so i hope i can get another one when we go in a few months...

Unfortunately, ours are the flimsy ones too.

I'm not sure I understand that logic. It's a card that is supposed to last a year.

I know! We used ours for like a week and it's already looking a little tattered... What was Disney thinking?? I guess I will just have to keep mine extra safe now! :)

Well, the reason I hear was because the hard cards kept deactivating. But once you are in the system, With the APs, you can always get replacement ones free of charge. My DBF accidently washed his, and he had no problem replacing it.

I don't know about the DDE cards though, sorry. I'm sure they should be about the same though...

We got a flimsy DDE card (activated at Downtown Disney) and flimsy APs.

We can't figure out why Disneyland gives us nice, hard plastic APs but Disney World gives us chintzy paper ones. :confused3 Maybe it's to do with the biometric scanner at WDW?

How do you order the DDE and get it by mail? I would love to not have to worry about getting it that week.

You can get a new one at guest relations. Your info is on it... so if you lose it or it tears, you can get another one.

That info is for you too Caryn!

Hi everyone! I have a question about annual passes too! So I'm going to pirate your thread for just a second :cutie: pirate:

If we bought APs Today, could we hold onto them until January and activate them then? Basically, is there a time frame from when you purchase them that you have to activate them?? thanks everyone.

I remember saying something to a cast member about this and I remember the response being that the hard plastic cards are actually less durable with respect to the strip on the back. They scratch easier I guess?? Where as the paper ones the strip is more reliable??? I don't know if I'm buying it. Chuck's had to have his replace after using it once because it wouldn't read. I had to have mine replace too when I was down in the world in May, a mere three months after the wedding! :confused3

I believe it doesn't start when you buy them, or receive them from DFTW it only starts when you activate them.

They don't do them by mail anymore, unfortunately. You have to pick it up when you get there. :sad1:
