Annual Pass Question....

If I buy an annual pass online....and they send me the voucher.....can I book a room using the pass (for AP discounts) even though it's not activated?

Yes, but you must activate the annual pass before checking into the hotel. We just got our vouchers, and are staying at POFQ in Feb.
We called the hotel directly and the CM we spoke to said we could check in showing the voucher, then activate the pass when we go to the park, then come back and show that it was activated and we would get the AP rate we booked.
I hope she is correct, or else we will have to go to a park to activate it first and then check in.

I have used an Annual Passholder discount 9 times during the last five years and have YET to be asked to show my Pass at check in.I have even been asked if I needed park tickets at check in.LOL You may possibly be asked by a check in Cast Member to produce a Pass,but that has not been my experience.The worst-case scenario is they will go ahead and check you in and tell you to bring your activated Pass by later that day.If they will not allow you to check in using your voucher ask to speak with a Manager.There is an EXCELLENT chance you won't even be asked to show it.

That is hysterical that you have never been asked for your AP....but if you needed tickets!! Too funny!!

I just booked 2 studios at SSR for $149/night for 1/2-1/6! We are already down there through DVC from 12/26-1/2, so now this is a nice long trip!! I couldn't believe that AP rate when I saw it! Way better than my DVC cash discount even!

They asked us for the AP on checkin At CB, We only had the voucher, but paid in full, so we got it without the AP.

The same thing happened to us at our Beach Club stay last month.

(Maybe they just check the Jersey folks? )
