This is probably a stupid question; however, I will go ahead and ask it ------

We purchased annual passes about 4 or 5 months ago at the regular Disney price. Now, we are purchasing a DVC membership. We have not yet traded in our Disney annual pass vouchers for our annual passes. We will not trade in our annual pass vouchers for passes until June of 2006. Do you think Disney would give us a refund and let us utilize the DVC annual pass discount? Obviously, we did not anticipate joining DVC at the time we purchased our annual passes. I know Disney would probably LOL; however, thought I would ask this question as it would result in several hundred $'s in savings.

Thanks!

IMHO, your best bet would be to get the accommodation through your DVC guide, though I wouldn't hold out much hope. I agree with Diane that trying to get a refund from Disney itself is barking up the wrong tree.

By the same token, you'll surely be able to take advantage of the discount when you renew!

They won't give you a refund, but they will allow you to upgrade to PAP's using the DVC discount, which could result in no additional out of pocket expense, or they may allow you to use the credit towards the purchase of other ticket media at the time of redemption.

They normally will not refund the cash difference, but several here have been refunded $5 when they upgraded their pre DVC Discount AP's to DVC Discounted PAP's. (myself included) That is normally dependent on the CM you get, but none of them will give you $100 back, they will require you to put it towards other tickets.

I went into detail on my ticket upgrading experience on the other thread located on this board.

HTH!

My best friend is a DVC member. She is willing to purchase me AP's if she can at the discount. Can she do this? If so, where can it be done and how many can she buy if she has already gotten hers for her family of 4? Thanks for your help.

In order to get the DVC discount you must show photo IDs proving you reside at the same address as the DVC member. The discount is also for "family" only, not friends.

While your friend may be able to purchase a voucher for you, you would still need to show the member card and photo ID when it is activated. Even if you are staying with your friend on her points, the discount is not available for guests of members.

So, no, she would not be able to get the AP discount for you.

I did the same thing. I bought my AP and then joined DVC and they came out with the discount. I had no problem getting a refund. I went to the guest relations window at Epcot, explained my situation, and they gave me a refund. ::yes::

Activating an annual pass is quick and simple. At MK just go up to Guest services { I think it was before the entrance} and give the CM your voucher and Driver's licenses {for adults}. They will immediately issue annual passes...five minutes tops...no lines for us anyway. You then go through the ticket turnstiles after the security stop. Don't forget to place your fingers on the "V" after you slide your ticket through.

Can anyone tell me what the price is for a DVC priced AP for adult & children? and the PAP DVC price for adult & children?

Thanks

Yes, you can activate them at DTD, that's where I activated mine in April. I went 1st thing in the am, and we were literally the only people at Guest Services.

Do you think I'd have any problem with my partner and I getting the DVC AP discount? I'm the only one on the deed, but we do live in the same household.

I don't think you'll have a problem as long as your photo IDs show the same address.

I will try to upgrade to the PAP at no additional cost. Thanks for the info!
You should be able to do this with no problems. I purchased a regular AP last fall before DVC announced the discount. In May I went to Disney and had them upgrade to the premium; there was no charge.

thank you athenna. I am hoping to get them done the night beforeI will look and see what time theyare open, if I not I will be there first thing in the morning at DTD since we are staying at SSR.

In June we joined,we were able to get a refund. :jumping1:
