Ok, not a 100% sure its never been asked but its a bit obscure. From discounts to dining there are perks that come with the annual pass and all except free parking extend to the seasonal pass. But what about other APs? Disney sells BB/TL passes, DQ passes and Epcot after 4 Fl Res passes. Do they all qualify as having an active AP to get you things like room discounts, ability to buy DDE card, etc?

No. An active AP for discounts, etc. has to be for the major parks. None of the passes you listed would qualify.

Nope we have AP to DQ and the water parks for my niece and nephew. Only entitlement is admission to those parks.

OK, makes sense but I've never seen it specifically listed as 'AP discount for 4 Park Passholders'. Seems like if you booked a room saying you had an annual pass and they never specify which kind, you would be ok at checkin even if they asked to see your annual pass.

Actually, you wouldn't. You'd have to show your annual pass at some point, and you could end up paying the difference between the AP rate and the rack rate, which would be substantial. I'm sure there's small print somewhere that specifies. If there isn't, this type of loophole would have already been used many many times!

I wonder if it really is a loophole if they have never specifically specified which passes they mean by "Annual Pass". Is it gut instinct that these passes would not qualify or is it in print somewhere? They may not sell enough waterpark, etc passes to have bothered with the exclusion. The pass that I buy next would likely be the TL/BB/DQ pass which covers 3 parks and is only $80 cheaper then my 4 park pass. Even if it is specified in small print somewhere, if the CRO booking the room doesn't ask more than if you have an annual pass and you say yes and take the AP discount I can't imagine the front desk person giving you a hard time. This isn't really bending rules if there is no rule about it ........... its an annual pass to 3 of Disney's parks. It's a less publicized less sold annual pass but who is to say it doesn't qualify for AP room discounts? It's not a huge deal for me since I probably could get FL resident rates if I want to stay onsite when I move to this pass. Just wondered if anyone actually knew or had experience with this.

According to the WDW Ticket office, Annual Passes are technically "4 Theme Park Annual Passes." They have Passholder ID numbers on them that are different than passholder ID numbers that are found on any other type of annual passes -- water park, DisneyQuest, etc. The numbers are apparently different enough that any front desk manager glancing at the annual pass presented to them will know (or, rather, SHOULD know) immediately that the pass being presented to them is not a "4 Theme Park Annual Pass," but some other type. Which would cause them to run the ID and find out which type of annual pass it is. According to Ticketing, passholder discounts and benefits are only for those passholders with "4 Theme Park Annual Passes", although benefit levels differ between Annuals, Premiums, and FL Resident passes. This is all in print for CMs to refer to.
