Annual Pass purchased, but how to use Fast Pass plus now?

Florida resident here - just purchased our first annual passes ever (yippee!) and the certificate emailed says I turn in my certificate at a WDW ticket window to get our annual passes. So now here's my problem: I want to utilize Fast Pass Plus online BEFORE we get to WDW. In the past I would buy tickets online, was able to link my ticket reservation, and then use Fast Pass Plus. Any way I can do this now? Thanks!

Same as linking any other tickets. Go into your My Disney Experience and use the confirmation to link your APs. Then you can make your FP+ selections.

When you get to WDW, you will be picking up a plastic card which is your AP. The only thing you would use the plastic card for is discounts, etc.

You will need the ticket number off of the email not the confirmation number that has part of you name in it, on the first page.

Currently, don't AP holders have to have an initial resort stay booked to schedule FP+? From what I understand, once they do that initial resort stay they can book future FP+ without an additional resort stay.

I used the CONFIRMATION NUMBER that I received at the end of the online transaction, even before I got the email, and it worked fine. When I got the email, there was no ticket number, only the same confirmation number that I had gotten online.

Yes, that is true at this time.

If you link an AP (assuming you already have MagicBands), does the clock start ticking on the AP right then? (this is also assuming it is a new AP, not a renewal) Or does the clock start ticking once you enter the park on it?

I have read numerous posts here that say it does not get "activated" until either you pick up the plastic pass at "will call" or the first time you enter a park using it. I haven't actually experienced it myself, because we don't go until the end of this month, but I believe the experts on this board.

I am a FL resident who got my AP on Nov 1st. I don't stay on site & have no current plans to do so.

In order for me to get a magic band & have prebook FP+ capability I now need to spend a night at a Disney hotel??

What else should I be getting with my AP? I only got a giant magnet in the mail. I have not gotten any newsletters or emails or any kind of Disney info...am I supposed to?

Was not the case in my situation I had the confirmation number which gave me an error code. I had to use the numbers printed towards the middle/bottom :-/

Were you linking tickets or AP's? Perhaps it is different for tickets and AP's (leave it to Disney to make it confusing) Perhaps I should not have said "Same as linking any other ticket". My bad I have not linked tickets, only Florida AP's.

As of now, only those with an on site stay can get a Magic Band.
