Does the Annual Pass require me to go through and get a photo taken, etc.? (I think we're getting the Preferred)

Just wondering if I need to build time into our schedule to allow for waiting in line for a photo...

Or are they paper tickets?

Thanks!

There is no photo on the tickets. They are just a thick paper.

yikes...better make sure to protect them on those wet rides! I thought they would have been like a credit card (similar to our season passes to Cedar Point--an up north park)

Nope...they stopped doing plastic APs back in late 2005...mine is the plastic AP with my picture on it (from 2005) but all new APs look just like regular tickets. My Disney AP is the same thing...it looks like a regular ticket.

It's like an indestructible paper card. I have had mine replaced once in 3 years due to the water fading the ink from the water rides. We ride the water rides to much.:thumbsup2

Just to pass on the info...you will have to pay for parking on your first visit. I was shocked to have to pay $15 to park on day 1, even though I had my receipt/voucher showing I had bought my annual passes. Sea World and WDW allow you to park free if you show proof that your AP is paid for, and even refunds parking fee if you pay parking and then decide to buy an annual pass at the ticket window. For me, that was an epic fail for Universal. I bought the preferred for me and the powrer pass for DH and DD...spent over $500, but still have to pay the $15 parking fee.

I know it's bothersome but unlike Disney, you will get discounts of at least 10% on food and merchandise in both parks so that will make up for the parking fee in no time at all. Disney doesn't give AP discounts on stuff in the parks.

There is a disclaimer on the web page about the parking fee:

^Free self-parking is not valid on your first visit to the parks. On-site hotels parking not included.
