I can't seem to find the answer to this one their website, so here I am.

The annual pass offers a payment option for CA residents and I am finally going to get one after a lifetime of once-a-year trips. If I purchase the pass at the gate, can I still get the payment plan or do I need to pay online beforehand? I would do it online to save time, but my printer is broken, so I can't print anything. I don't have the money to do the full amount right now, so the payments are vital.

Thanks!

You have to do it online...I am thinking you don't have to print anything right away, they email you. You could always email it your work or to a friend and have them print it for you :confused3

Never fear, OP, this is actually incorrect. You CAN do the payment plan if you buy your AP at the gate and not online. MrsPinup is correct, however, that you don't have to print it immediately. They will email you a PDF and you can print it from any printer, but if you can't get to another printer, you can get the payment plan at the parks.

You can go to the ticket windows and pay $80 ("down") and then depending on the pass you purchase, they will prepare a contract and deduct $xx out of your bank account each month.

Correct! We just did this in October at the ticket window and used our hoppers as our down payment.

deduct from your bank account? So you'll need your bank account information with you (I usually only bring cash and credit card to the parks)? Can/will they charge it to your credit card every month?

They can do a card too. If you do from a checking account, it's just the information you would find on the bottom of a check (routing number and account number), or you can do a credit card.

I didn't realize they could do it to a checking account. That's work a lot better for us because our "extras" account doesn't have a debit/credit card attached to it.

Hopefully someone else can confirm, but I know they offered the checking account option last year because they wanted me to mail in all my information (address, name, bank account info) and I didn't feel comfortable doing that through the mail so I decided not to do the payment plan. That was when the payment plan was newer. Now you can do everything online. Hopefully they still offer the checking account option?
