annual pass - park reservations usage

I'm considering purchasing the Sorcerer annual pass as I'm planning 2 trips within one year. I'm not local so my trips are 10 days each (January and early December). I understand AP holders can have 5 park reservations at one time. I would need to add a park reservation each day as I use one.

1. How hard is it to do this?

2. Are there AP holders who have been shut out at these times of year? My main concern is the first trip in January since I'm travelling with others, the 2nd trip will be solo - entering after 2 would probably be fine.

3. Am I right that AP holders can't have a park reservation for MK on Saturday? Why do they have to make this so complicated?

Those 5 park reservations are for when you are not staying on-property.

If you are staying at a WDW resort (including DVC), you can make park reservations for the length of stay. This is in addition to the 5 "off-site" reservations.

Incorrect. With the exception of the MK on weekends, AP holders can enter any theme park after 2 pm without needing a park reservation. For the MK on weekends, you either need a MK park reservation or you can hop to the MK after 2 pm (as long as you've entered a different theme park first).

Do you live in FL or own DVC? You say you are not local. The Sorcerers pass is only available to FL residents and DVC owners.

Thank you for clearing up my confusion. This is great information.

I'm confused about this limit on reservations. We have the DVC Sorcerer passes and just finished a 5 night trip a couple of weeks ago. We also have a 7 n trip booked in Sept. The system would not let me book park reservations for half of our Sept trip until after we had completed the July trip. What's the deal with the restrictions? I was trying to reserve in the AP holder with onsite reservations bucket.

I haven't tried it yet with our Sorcerer Pass (activating it in three weeks onsite), but is there another option other than AP holder with onsite (although that sounds right)? Personally I would phone right away to get it straightened out...

This is all such a royal pain.

I have August parks booked and going again in December (no parks booked yet), so I might try to reserve December parks now to see if it happens to me as well.

I just looked up the official wording out of curiosity and it's pretty clear that it should be working for you (assuming you have those hotel reservations in your account so that it knows). Here's the wording for the record:

1. Park Reservations

Starting September 8, 2021, each Walt Disney World Annual Pass provides a different number of theme park reservations—made via the Disney Park Pass system:

  • Disney Incredi-Pass: Up to 5 reservations held at a time
  • Disney Sorcerer Pass: Up to 5 reservations held at a time
  • Disney Pirate Pass: Up to 4 reservations held at a time
  • Disney Pixie Dust Pass: Up to 3 reservations held at a time
  • Platinum Plus, Platinum and Gold Annual Passes: Up to 5 reservations held at a time
  • Silver Pass: Up to 4 reservations held at a time
2. Disney Resort Hotels or Other Select Hotels Length of Stay Park Reservations

Plus, Annual Passholders staying at Disney Resort hotels or other select hotels are still eligible to make theme park reservations for each day of their Resort stay(s), in addition to holding their maximum number of theme park reservations at a time on a rolling basis.

When you get to the page to make park reservations make sure you are logged in under your user name and your resort reservations are linked. Click the tab for “Book Park Reservation for Hotel Guest with Annual Pass”. It will open a page which lists all your reservations. Select the one you want and you can make as many park reservations as days in that stay.

It’s honestly very transparent when making park reservations. You may not be seeing the option because your AP isn’t activated yet. I’ve had mine so for so long… before Covid… that I’ve never had to make reservations without it.

It must not have recognized your reservations because I currently have reservations booked for 4 days in September, 4 days in December and 3 days in January with my Sorcerer Pass, since I have all my trips linked.

When you went to book, did you make sure you choose book with an AP as a resort guest?

We've been annual passholders forever and I've never run into the limit before on previous trips. Yes, my reservations were linked (it let me pick a few of the first days of the Sept trip but then cut me off). I had no problems finishing booking the rest of the week once we completed the July trip. It was all very odd. Dunno. Shrug.
