I am hoping that someone could help me with the order inwhich to do things. My DH,DD,DD and myself are hoping to go to disney in May 2005. We plan on buying annual passes as recommended by the DIS Boards(thanks). We have narrowed our hotel choices down to Wilderness Lodge or Animal Kingdom Lodge. Here is my question do I book the hotel(room only) 1st or do I get passes 1st.?? Also am I right in thinking that annual passes yeild a discount no matter where & when?? Sorry about all the questions. It is just that within that one year pass time we plan to go THREE times.:hyper: Any guidence would be soooo appreciated. :wave2: princess: princess:

There aren't always discounts to the resorts with an AP. You have to watch for when they are released.

If you plan on going 3 times the AP is still a great bargain whether or not you use it for your room discount.

I would say book the room, when you book the room they will not even ask you if you have an Annual Pass, at the time of the order, and even when you re-book later in the season when the discounts come out--(they should come out I have been an annual pass holder and never seen a season without a discount.) As long as you have the pass when you check in you will be ok.

I just booked my rooms for the Wilderness Lodge for May 2005, for a Grand Gathering. The CM said to make sure that I keep an eye out for the discounts when they do come out, as they will go fast.

Take care

Just a note, you do not have to have your annual pass bought when you book a room with an annual pass discount. You will just need to have it or a voucher at checkin. Annual pass discounts are not a guarantee, but it is more likely than not they will have one. If they don't have a discount when you book and one comes out later, they are also good about changing the reservation to the discounted rate. Discounts usually come out just a short time before their valid dates(Sept just recently came out). So plan your trip and watch this board for discount info.

The only bad thing about an annual pass is that you will be tempted to take an extra trip to WDW since the parks are already paid for, but that really isn't that bad of a thing!

Thank you all!!

Just by getting my DH to purchase the AP's that will make him want to get more bang for his buck. We just purchased a mini van just in case we start driving (from CT). Lots of aspirin two dd's (5 & 4). We all love Disney. We keep shopping around for other vacations and nothing seems to compare(money or fun).

Thanks again I will start making my calls :goodvibes

And once you take that first trip on your AP, you will take more. Somewhere along the way, you will notice DVC or Disney Vacation Club. And you will purchase DVC points and then wind up going twice or more a year for the next 50 years. Whew!
