Greetings Chatterati:D

My wife and I will be first time annual pass holders this year. With the recent price increase, we are wanting to accurately factor in how discounts offset the cost. Tonight we are wondering if annual pass holders can get hotel (onsite/offsite) discounts? I think I saw that hojo gives 20%. Let me know, and thank you in advance:-)

Yes there are quite a few hotels/motels that offer an AP discount. All three Disney hotels do on occasion as well as...

Hotel Ménage
Hojo
Del Sol
Ramada Maingate
Candy Cane Inn
Annabella

There are probably more but those are the only ones I can think of! I'm sure others will be able to add more!

You get some discounts here and there with the annual pass but in my experience a AAA card is much better for discounts. One exception in the past PP hotel did offer some pretty good AP discounts in January/February.

We got a 20% discount at HoJo last year and this year. I think they lowered it to 15% - that's because the Disney hotels don't offer many discounts for APs anymore. Supply and Demand. For me, the AP equation is this: am I going on a 5 day trip this year AND next year? If so, is it cheaper to get APs than buy two 5 day passes for everyone? If it's a little cheaper it's worth it. If not, then we have to figure out if any dining or hotel discounts slightly tip the balance.

Depending on the pass type, discounts aren't as great at the Disney hotels, and hard to come by nowadays, but the food/merch discounts really add up as well as tour discounts, etc.
I tend to buy souvenirs every trip and 20% off really helps.
And, as GatorChris said, if you plan to go more than once in a year for any length of time, a pass is often cheaper than buying tickets for multiple trips.

The hotel AP rates aren't as easy as lead to believe. The offers are extremely limited. When they do come up they sell out fast!

The only advantage for an AP in my opinion is, cost savings if you'll be going to the parks more than two (4day) trips in the year.

The AP discount on food and merchandise does add up and is a nice perk. But the major savings is on entrance to the parks for multiple trips in a year.

I only purchased an AP due to a trip in October and December. If I can, I'd like to add in one or two visits more before the expiration date.
But with flights, hotels and food it will be a challenge.
