I remember reading something about possible annual pass extensions...

Our passes expire July 1, 2010...We are arriving back in WDW on July 6, 2010...

Any idea if we will be able to get an extension? If so, how do I go about doing that? :confused3

You will need to renew your passes either before you arrive or once you are there. Until 8/31/2010, if you renew annual passes either 30 days before or up to 30 days after they expire your renewal will be for 15 months instead of 12.

If you renew that pass when you arrive on the 6th, it will be good for 15 months instead of 12.

So, instead of expiring on July 1st, 2011, it would be good until October 1st, 2011.

But there is not a way to make your current pass an extended one (just in case that is what you were asking).

Is there anything as far as new AP's being good for 15 months instead of 12? I was thinking of getting our AP's in Dec '10, but can buy them now if need be!

NO...only on the renewals.

There is a Florida Resident promo for 15 months for new APs that expires today.

FYI..we planned to renew our passes when we were there on 12/14. Guest service informed us that DVC chose not to participate in the extension promotion so we could renew with the promotion at full price or use DVC discount and not get extension. We were kinda bummed. And also...I could be wrong....but doesn't the promotion end today?

There have been many reports of DVC members getting 15 months for renewals. I suspect that the CM you saw was incorrect.

The promo for 15 months on renewals run thru 8/31/2010. The promo that expires today is a FL resident promo for 15 months for new annual passes.

Thanks erionm! We will check again. Does anyone know if it's possible to renew over the phone?

Is there a discount on renewals? Can I renew through DVC before we get there? Or does not save me time anyway because I need to go to guest services to get new passes??

There is a small price break for renewals. You can renew on-line from the passholder website: disneyworld.com/passholder. If you renew on-line, you will get a confirmation number that you will need to take to guest services. The primary reason to renew before your arrive would be to avoid any potential price increases. The last price increase was in Aug so I don't think there will be another until next Aug.

You can renew by phone, on-line or at WDW. If you do it by phone or on-line you will get a confirmation number that you would need to take to guest services to get the actual AP. Disney does not mail out active APs.

My AP expired 10/18/09. I renewed online with the DVC price and picked up my pass when I arrived on 12/5/09. It expires 01/18/11. Be aware that you have to have your member card when you pick it up (I have heard that they can verify by phone but it would be easier if you have your card or your member #).
