A while back I heard from a DVC castmember that the AP was actually good for 15 months after the first use. Is this true? Our next 2 trips will be about 14 months apart. It would be a lot cheaper to buy the AP with our DVC discount than to buy tickets separately for each trip.
They will store your address from the id you show when you get your actual AP so, you may (or may not) receive notification by snail mail to renew. You should also receive the Mickey Monitor (passholder newsletter) that mailed out quarterly.
An Annual Pass is good for 366 days. If you buy one on April 8, 2006, it will be valid through April 8, 2007! (Yes, you get an extra day, except in Leap Years.)
I think that means that in Deb & Bill's example above, the AP purchased on March 1, 2011 would expire at the end of February 29th, 2012. But, I don't have an AP that covers the leap day (yet) so I don't know 100% for sure.
I haven't gotten any mail with the renewal procedure. Mine expired over the weekend, and I just figured I would renew it in person next week. I don't expect any problems!
