Will I get an email or something in the mail when my annual pass is due to expire? If so, is there any discount for renewing it?

We have always gotten a postcard in the mail with the reduced cost if renewed. I have even renewed after that date and they just backdate the expiration to match your original purchase date.

In the past two years, they didn't send me any type of notification. Once I was past the expiration by almost thirty days and they renewed it. This year I was past the expiration by three days and they renewed it. The renewal rate is $99 + tax.

I have renewed mine months later, too, but remember the expiration date will always be at the same time of year even if you renew later.

Last year when my annual pass (buy one year, get one year free; purchased in 2004) expired, I received two postcards. One postcard was for a $99 one year renewal and the other was for a $180 two year renewal. We renewed for the two years.

Last September, I had no notice whatsoever--had to pay the $10 to park just to renew. The lady at the ticket counter told me this was the norm, and was nice enough to write the expiration date in magic marker on the back of my pass. Still ticked me off, tho--not even an email that it was about to expire.

I keep a sticky note attached to the back of my pass when not in use (since we can't go every weekend), then I know when it will expire. Since they use the same pass and extend the expiration date when you renew, I don't think I would want an actual date on it in permanent marker.

Thanks everyone. I know that mine will expire the end of April and we're not going till the 2nd week of May, so I'm trying to decide whether to renew or just buy the $85 deal that is currently going. We have no plans to go again within the year, but then we didn't plan on going this year until DH found out he is going to a conference. Right now AAA rates are better than APH rates for rooms so not sure what to do.

if it's the old AP (which, it probably is) try spraying the permanent marker w/ aersol hairspray and wiping it off....that usually works on plastic :thumbsup2

What about when you have flex pay? I know it will be automatically renewed unless you write them, but do they keep charging the same price or do you get the reduced price?

They keep charging the same amount on your flexpay contract. If you want to pay the $99 plus tax renewal rate, you will have to cancel your flexpay contract and pay off the balance remaining on your contract.
