Annual Pass discount

I am sure this "horse" has been beaten to death but again...If you want to stay in a Disney Resort next summer but the annual pass price won't be available till maybe April or May do you book where you would like to stay in the meantime and cancel when you book the discounted room? To me it doesn't solve the problem of rooms being held that may not be used..but is this correct?? Is this what I should do?

I book the resort I am willing to pay for whether I get the discount or not. I like a certain resort and don't want to risk not having a room if they book up. I don't think it is right to book a room and only plan on staying in it if you get a discount. I have an AP and never plan on getting a discount. If I do then it is a bonus. I have the CR tower booked in December. I couldn't get an AP rate on it but am still going there.

I agree. We'll be making our ressies at ASMo for June/July next month with a renewed AP and if another code or discount comes our way, I'll revise the reservation (never cancel). My main goal is to secure the rooms we have come to love . Next comes airfare.

That's the problem Next month the AP discounts for the Spring won't be available. Now they only go to early February..So I would have to wait till Spring to get an AP discount..I will therefore make a reservation at the place I wish to stay with a AAA discounted price then in the Spring check for AP discounts and cancel one to pick up the other...Seems a bit like a waste of time.. I was told you can't just switch you have to cancel one and make a new reservation confusing too!

Hi!

I book the resort I would like to stay and when the codes/pins/discounts come out then just apply it to your current reservations. This is what I did for our upcoming December trip - booked the room at AKL several months ago - received my AP rate and to my surprise received a PIN Code in the mail 2 weeks ago which I also applied to the current reservation. .
