I hope I did not miss this information on another thread.
I called MS to renew my AP for a planned trip the last week of October. MS verified that DVC members get the discount for the new 15 month AP promotion. So, for a little less than $370.00 I get a 15 month annual pass starting on Oct 26, 2009 and ending on January 26, 2011. This will take me through 2 Disney marathons. MS said the promo will probably last through the end of the year.

is this the one for renewal within 30 days of your AP expiring or is there some other promo out there?

That is a awesome deal! I will be buying annual passes when we go. That will save us around $800.00 next year!!

So, if I am buying a NEW annual pass with DVC discount --It is good for 15 months??:confused3 Also, if I buy now --- Can you buy ahead of time and have an activation date later. Example-- I buy the pass in December BUT don't want it to be in use until June.
Can someone help clear this up??

I also wonder, is this for a renewal or a new AP that gives the 15 month extension?

(I know they give it for the renewal, fingers crossed that it is for new APs also).

This is almost exactly what I wanted to ak as well. Hopefully someone can provide a knowledgeable answer

Sorry, I have a cold and went to sleep.
My wife told me I could renew 60 days prior to or 30 day after my current pass expired. I do not have to activate the pass until after the old pass expires.
My wife found this promo on the Disney web site, not the DVC web site. I called MS and asked if the DVC discount was good for this promo. They said yes.
I do not know if this is good for a new annual pass. You might want to call MS and ask.

Debbie beat me to the answer. DVC Annual Passes are included in the 15-month renewals, but only Florida residents get 15 months for a new AP purchase. Sorry, all.

The renewal promo started on August 2nd when the new prices took effect. We were lucky -- that was the day we exchanged our renewal voucher, so we got the 15 months.

The Florida resident offer is more recent.

Thank you for the answer about the new AP and the non-15 months.

Too bad they don't do it for DVC members. I know many here buy an AP and always renew it, but for us, the expense is too great and not worth it. However, if they had the 15 months to begin with, that might just sway us.

I typically let my AP expire and buy a new one on the next trip so that the 12 months starts then. My current AP expires mid-October and I had planned to buy a new one on my early December trip so that it would be good through the end of October next year when I plan to go. Now with the 15 months, if I renew mid-October it will be good until January 2011 so it will cover late October next year. So this will be the first time I renew, I will save $45.

Before you guys get too excited, you might want to visit the AP website. This 15 month renewal promotion ends on August 31, 2010. Whether it gets extended might be something you would want to monitor. I cut the info from the passholder site:

Great news! Passholders are now able to renew passes* at the special renewal rate AND get 3 additional months — that's 15 months of Disney magic for the price of 12. What a way to save!

Think of the many reasons why being an Annual Passholder is so special. Enjoy Passholder perks like Disney Resort hotel offers, merchandise discounts and exclusive Passholder events. Perhaps you attended the Passholder sneak peek of Disney's Tinker Bell movie or a special tour of the Cinderella Castle Suite. More Passholder special events are coming your way!

One of the great benefits of being a Passholder is that you can take your time in the theme parks without feeling rushed to see and do everything in one day. Passholders love the leisure to discover everything the Walt Disney World Resort has to offer, and visit favorite attractions again and again.

Relive your most magical Walt Disney World memories and create new ones. From now to August 31, 2010, simply renew by your anniversary date, or up to 30 days after, so you can lock in your 15 months. Your renewal expires 15 months after your original anniversary date, so don't miss out on the magic—renew today!

*Offer not valid on Epcot After 4 Annual Pass. Expiring pass requred for renewal. Savings based on the non-discounted first time purchase price of the same pass. Excludes activities/events separately priced.

My plans also - only mine expires mid Sept and we are going end of Sept. We were originally not going again until Dec 27th so I would have bought a new one then. It will still be good through mid Dec 2010 if I renew when we go in Sept. so that is a bonus , as we will be going Dec this year and then probably usin the spring and fall for a few days in 2010. Hopefully I will be able to renew in August 2010 and get a second 15 months renewal based on the following:
From now to August 31, 2010 simply renew by your anniversary date, or up to 30 days after, so you can lock in your 15 months. It will depend on whether you can renew early I guess.

I know the answer is probably here somewhere, but I am just not getting it.

My current APs expire on May 23, 2009. If I renew them at that time (or by June 23, 2009),will I be able to take advantage the 15 month offer plus the DVC discount for AP renewal?

Thanks for your help!

I think you are already too late if they expired May 2009- did you by any cahnce mean May23, 2010? If that is the case then you should be able to renew for the 15 months when the time comes and if the DVC AP
discount is still there get that also.

Thanks for the info! I was wondering how it worked. I will be buying an AP when we are there in Oct on our first trip "home" as DVC members.:cool1:

How early can you renew? We are purchasing DVC AP in end of Jan. Can I renew in Aug. for the following year?

Thanks so much for your reply.

I did mean 2010, so I should be able to take advantage of this offer:banana:

When we renewed our pass on 8/16/09, the ticket agent told us the 15 month extension is only good for renewals, not new AP....sorry!!!:guilty:
