Annual Pass Dilemma

Here's the scoop. We were thinking of taking a trip in Nov/Dec to see the Christmas Decorations (we have been before & love it). We did think about annual passes so we can go back one more time after that..........

However, DH now has a convention in April at the Contemporary. So we are trying to figure out the cheapest way to get the AP. Our daughter is also applying to do the DCP for fall.

He can get discounted convention tickets (we would get the PH tickets) for about $10 less than we can get undercovertourist tickets. (Yes I realize these would have to be upgraded to the AP once we get there). If ticket prices go up between now and then, we would have to pay the difference of what the AP cost in April? So is it better just to order the AP and forget all the run around?

Traditionally convention tickets cannot be upgraded to APs, so that might sway your decision.

I understand that convention tickets may or may not be upgradeable (was told they were tho)

THe real question is: If I can upgrade tickets, and I do it at WDW...........will it be to the new price when it goes up? So should I just bite the bullet, buy AP to start with now and not worry about having to upgrade and pay the price increase?
