Annual pass changes coming........

Yes I most certainly do know. I can attest to the fact that the 10/4 morning was incredibly chaotic and crazy. And I can attest to the fact that as of the morning of 10/4, when the AP cert was brought up, it already quick upgraded to Gold. Whether that changed from yesterday morning in response, who knows, that is entirely possible, but it certainly wasn't anything we did. This again, new pass, not a renewal.

My purpose in asking if you knew the specific time and location was because I'd like to know that information for the purpose of reporting it. Are you a CM yourself? (Your use of the quick upgrade terminology makes me think you might be.) If so, you don't need to share the information with me, but please report it to your own supervisors. It is out of line with how we're being trained and with how I've observed the process working, and that needs to be corrected, otherwise we're failing to honor our own policies.

It did it all automatically, it was not a screw up. I just don't know exactly when he purchased it, for all we know, it could have been ordered online in that weird moment after the cut over happened. All I know is that his AP cert quick upgraded to gold. It was a FL RES AP cert, ID checked, and it processed Gold automatically. Any possibility something has changed since the morning of 10/4, since you say you are automatically quick upgrading them to Platinum, as FL Res AP, today?
No matter when he purchased it, there is no 'equivalent' to Gold in the computer, so nothing should even be able to quick upgrade to it. Do you know specifically when and where this occurred? I'd like to report it through the appropriate channels.
One possibility is they had a Seasonal Pass voucher and were upgraded to Gold (on purpose or by mistake).

Did you process any specifically on 10/4? I haven't been in today, so I don't know if anything has potentially changed. Automated is automated. That is as far as I think it needs to go on public forum, but I intend to ask more questions today.

TwinPrincessMermaids is saying that the certificate for an Annual automatically 'quick upgraded' itself to Gold. (Quick upgrade is the computer function we use to activate non-renewal certificates.) If it was a regular upgrade process, that would have been a second transaction and would have required a payment of the difference between the Silver and Gold passes.

Yes, I processed several non-renewal certificates yesterday and today for Florida residents and non-Florida residents. Without fail, Seasonals became Silvers and Annuals became Platinums. If I had seen anything different, I would have gotten a coordinator involved, because it's out of line with what we were trained on.

You don't have to provide me with any information you don't want to, but I'm not trying to be argumentative here, I just want to make sure that problems get reported to the appropriate people and policies are being followed in a uniform manner.

I don't believe that to be the case. Originally, Husband was going to get AP for the parking, and wife was going to get Seasonal. When he came up, he found out they all had parking. By then, he already had essentially ordered the gold, so the wife went ahead and got gold as well, so they could come together. I don't think he would have come up with a Seasonal, knowing that he wanted parking included.

This sounds like it sadly may have been an isolated situation. I frankly don't exactly know when he ordered it. It may have actually been that same morning, in which case, he would have gotten the GOld regardless if that is what he purchased. I'm going to quit referring to it though, because it already sounds like it may be outdated information. Actually, that would be a good thing if it was. Bring on the Platinum!

Is it possible that if he purchased it online that morning, so as to not have to pay at the parking plaza, that the reservation we pulled up already knew it was Gold? In that case, we check the ID and process the certificate, and out pops a gold? In that case, it might just be an odd timing thing? I can promise you, it did it all on its own. I was being assessed, so I have eyes to vouch for it.

I purchased two Annual Pass Vouchers at our local Disneystore to use for our next trip in late 2016 or early 2017.
What happens with those vouchers now?
What level pass that that equate to under the new system?

From what I understand is that they will be Platinum. Call Disney for actual confirmation though.

I'm even more confused now. When you read his certificate in ATS, it should have been clear whether it was for a former Annual pass or for a current Gold pass. Your posts made it sound like it was definitely a former Annual.

If he had just made the purchase on the morning of 10/4, after the changeover, his certificate should have come up in the computer as being for a Gold pass, and that's literally the only way the QU function should have activated it to Gold.

Either way, if you were being assessed, your coordinator/trainer should have noticed if it was an error in the computer and reported it themselves, so there's no point in us continuing to hash it out here.

Answer:
Seasonal > Silver
AP > Platinum
Premium > Platinum Plus
Also, recommend not calling Disney. They are giving out erroneous information when it comes to AP/AP Renewal Certificates -- conflating them with current APs and saying there are no changes to the APs you will receive.

That's just it. It didn't appear to be an error, how could it (because they set up the system the night before to automatically process it quickly for us)? So now I feel like I'm going back to the drawing board. But either way, I'm happy to know that when AP Certs go in, Platinums will come out. At least in that regard, you have made my day. I'm not arguing by any means. As a current pass holder myself, this is great news to me. And moving on into next week....

Good point, lol. I think there is going to need to be a few days here. If your pass isn't effected until 2016, I would NOT call today for information. lol. Just saying. There is ALOT of new information to come down the pipeline, and a LOT of people to be given the knowledge with how to proceed. I would give it at least a week, unless you are desperate on what it means TODAY for your pass TODAY...

Very easy to change ds' pass today. Bought AP last week and was upgraded at no extra charge to Platinum. :) No complaints here, obviously! !!

Does it matter? The tip is the same either way right? (Unless one plans to tip less than 18%)

Depends...not everyone who goes to a lounge and has a drink or a beer will normally tip 18%, but with TIW the 18% add no matter what.

Wow. I just found out about this a few minutes ago. Our AP's expire October 18 and we haven't renewed yet. We were actually debating it, but we were likely going to renew this weekend. Is there anyway they will let us renew at the old rate? I can't believe they gave us no warning!

A heads up would have been nice.
