Annual Pass Card (for discounts)

I was looking through some of our Disney stuff and realized I cannot find the Annual Pass Card (required in the past for discounts and parking). Does anyone know how or if I can get it replaced?

I called Disney about this last week. We got our AP Magicbands and searched the box they came in but couldn't find the discount card that everyone has been talking about. The CM I talked to had to check with someone, but she came back and said that they've stopped sending them with the Magicbands because people were just overlooking them in the box and didn't even know they had them. She said what the PP said, to stop in at any Guest Relations to get the discount card. THe PP appears to be a CM, so I assume that his/her suggestion that a discount card can be obtained at a ticket booth is also valid.

Is there a reason you need it? It doesn't offer you anything different than just the AP itself offers you. I've never touched ours

I wondered that myself. When we had an actual AP plastic card, it wasn't an issue. But when we renewed our AP in December, there was no more plastic card, just the Magicband with the AP sliders. I asked the CM I talked to why the sliders weren't enough to show that you had an AP for the discount, and, if they weren't enough, why did we even have them? She said she honestly didn't know, but having the AP sliders for your Magicbands apparently isn't enough to get the AP discount. I wonder if scanning the Magicband only shows that you have valid admission media and doesn't specify what type it is. That's all I can think of that would necessitate having to have a separate discount card. Perhaps the earlier poster who is a CM could clarify why the discount card is necessary.

I'm guessing the OP means that actual AP cards. I didn't carry mine with me since I was using my MB for everything...I thought it was kinda crazy that I had to have my card with me to receive an AP discount while using the Tap-style checkout...I'm pretty sure that thing can tell I'm an AP-holder since it gets me into the park. I learned this the hard way and missed my discount (luckily it only would have amounted to about $10)

We got AP in December and got an AP card, like a ticket. You saying you didn't get that? You got nothing for an AP?

I thought the OP was talking about the discount card. We got one but have never used it
All I use is our AP and ID

I had 1 CM tell me the slider was enough and gave me the discount with out me getting the card out but that has not been the norm

Again, as is often the case with Disney....it sometimes depends on the Cast member. I've had CM that had me show the AP card and my ID, others have said I don't need the ID, others have seen the slider on my MB and said that was enough. If you have the AP OR the discount card, you should be fine, but technically you also need an ID.

We have the same issue with our DVC discount. Even though we have our magic bands, they require us to show them our DVC card.

I'm amazed someone accepted the slider. I'm in the parks every week and I have to show AP card and my drivers license to get AP discount. You can buy the sliders on eBay btw.

I'm surprised that the slider is enough for some cast members since you can buy them on ebay, cheap.

I received a plastic discount card (not an RFID ticket) when I purchased my AP. MBs came later with no card.

When making purchases in the park I've always been asked to show my AP Discount card and ID. Also asked for it when we parked at MK in November. They're no longer sending them? I wonder how they know then?

When I was at the World of Disney store, in Dec, I had about $200 worth of stuff. I was figuring in using my AP discount. Nope. I had to have the gold/yellow AP discount card in hand. I explained to the CM that I had been told that I didn't need one...it was all on my MB.....this at GS!! And at several shops it wasn't an issue. But it was at this store. I even asked to speak to a manager. She apologized but said their system needed that actual card! She asked if I was a dvc owner....yep, I am. Good thing I carry my dvc member card with me when in WDW!! That got me the same discount, thank heaven. But, I went right to GS that night and got that AP discount card!!!!

I can assure you that the discount card is not required. We do not even have one

Now, we do have and carry our AP and id with us and that is all we needed to get a discount. I never plan to use just my slider though. I was shocked when the one cm said it was all I needed

If got so on the parks app it does see your ap discount. But the store registers do not see it on your band

I didn't get the AP Discount Card with my renewal but I just carry my AP anyway - even though Disney is claiming all you need is your MB that isn't really the case.

We have had issues charging on MB's at various times so IMHO it is wise to have a cc'd and some cash as backup, I have had issues with my "finger scan" at park entrance so I often need my AP and ID and I have always had to show AP and ID to get an AP discount.

If you don't get the yellow discount card don't worry it was just another card to carry when your actual AP will get you the discount.

The discount card no longer exists. Your AP card is both your AP and your Discount card. If you need a replacement, stop at any ticket booth or guest relations to get a new one, bring your ID. They only stopped giving out separate discount cards in august and it's still confusing to everyone, including CMs.

To get your parking before you get your replacement card, just have them scan your magic band. It'll come up that your an AP and they can id verify from the name on your mde account.

We got AP in December and got an AP card, like a ticket. You saying you didn't get that? You got nothing for an AP?

If you already have a MB, there is an option where you do not get an AP card. That's where the discount card showed up, for those who got the AP attached to MDE and didn't get be AL card.

We have the same issue with our DVC discount. Even though we have our magic bands, they require us to show them our DVC card.

MBs don't show the affiliation.

Sliders show nothing. They just keep the bands on a bit better.

I can assure you that the discount card is not required.

And yet for the person you responded to it was 100% required.

If you don't get the yellow discount card don't worry it was just another card to carry when your actual AP will get you the discount.

Not everyone gets the AP card.

We were just in WDW a few days ago. We stopped at a ticket booth and picked up the AP hard card because we thought we would need it to get our discounts. But when we were purchasing merchandise they said that they only needed to see a photo ID in order to give us our AP discount. But we still like having the passholder hard card just in case.
