Annual Pass and Upgrade Questions

OK so I read through the ticket board and think that I have a few of my questions answered but there was one that I didn't quite find the right response for (it may have been there, it has been a long day!). We are going with Free Dining in September. Our parents, who are annual pass holders, are going with us in the same room. We are going to be there 6 days but only did the minimum 2 day base ticket (per the reservationist advice) because everyone in the room is on the same package. The three of us not annual pass holders then will go to the ticket counter or guest services (we are going to Hollywood Studios the first day) and upgrade our tickets for 4 more days and add the park hopper to them and pay the difference. That part is good. Our parents are going to save their 2 day magic bands and use their annual pass. What the CM told us was that they had to go into Disney Experience and pick their annual pass or make it their priority pass? How does one do this exactly? We need to figure it out for them and I want to make sure it is done as hassle free as possible. Thanks for any help

Tell your parents to go to guest services outside their first park before they enter for the first time. Guest relations can prioritize your tickets or (and this is what we did just to be safe) they can pull the two day tickets right off your MDE and issue you hard tickets to be re-linked whenever they are ready.

We are AP holders and this is what we did to take advantage of free dining last December.

Maybe it is not too late to ask this question in conjunction with this one. Obviously we can make our first two days of FP+ and they will have their annual pass and the new 2 day tickets which they will not use. We are linked together and my sister will be the one scheduling. I assume she can schedule them on their AP bands and not the two day ones?

The AP's and the two day tickets will both be linked to My Disney Experience. If there is more then one MB linked to a person's account The MB just reads what's in MDE. So there could be multiple tickets linked to a band. That's why it's important to at least prioritize which ticket you want used first. So your parents will have two day tickets and AP's attached to their MDE account and either of their bands will read that.

Your parents should be allowed to make FP selections for the length of their resort stay because they are AP holders. The rest of you will only be able to make FP selections ahead of time for two days. You can make fp's for additional days once you add days to your tickets.

I hope you are not too confused. I'm not sure if I've explained this clearly or not. :scratchin

Make sure you enter the park before you upgrade your tickets. That way, if there has been any price increase or if there is a difference between what you paid for the ticket and the current gate price, you can get the tickets bridged. If you upgrade the ticket before using it at least once, you'll only get the value what you paid for the ticket.

Right. That's a really good point! :thumbsup2

OP just make sure your parents get their two day tickets either prioritized or pulled off MDE before entering the park.
