Annual Pass and Parking

We are planning an August trip to WDW using our annual passes and staying offsite. The mini booklet that came with our annual pass stated that one of the perks was free parking if not staying on property. Any idea how to go about obtaining free parking? Is is something were we have to show our passes as we enter the parks each day? Do we go someplace and get a paper to place in our window? TIA!

When you get to the gates where you pay to park all you have to do is show them your AP or at least that's how the Florida AP's work.
