Annual Pass and Parking

I'm thinking of purchasing an annual pass this year. Would I get free parking on the first day at the parks, with just a voucher for a pass that I'd activate when I got to the windows?

Maybe.

Official policy is you need an active AP to make use of any perks associated with it as in you wouldn't be able to take a voucher in World of Disney and expect to get your 10% discount with it. Same for free parking. But there are some CMs who will just wave you through the parking gates anyway.

If you get one who insists on charging you that day, simply pay the parking and bring your parking receipt with you to Guest Relations when you exchange it. GR will refund you your parking fee.

If you have the time you can activate your AP at Downtown Disney which has free parking. That's what I did this past January. I'm not sure when Guest Services opens there, I activated mine the in afternoon before I needed parking.

Are you a resort guest? If so you don't ned to worry about an active AP.

If not, as GoldenOldie said, bring receipt to GS & they should refund.

Thanks so much for the info! We are staying at Vistana Villages this time, and I don't think we'll have a chance to hit Downtown Disney before the parks. I'll be sure to take my parking receipt to GS and get reimbursed if they charge us the first day. Thanks again!
