Annual Pass and Magic Bands / Fastpass +?

So this is the first time we've had an annual pass since the introduction of Magic Bands, Fastpass + etc - can someone give me a hand with the logistics of this?

I just have an email / voucher for the annual pass, which we won't trade in for the actual annual pass until we arrive, so how do we do our Fastpass + and Magic Bands?

Link your voucher to MDE using the voucher number. If you are staying onsite, you can do your FP+ at 60 days as usual, for length of stay. You will need to link your onsite stay to MDE also. If you are offsite you can book each day 30 days in advance. You can only have a maximum of 7 days' FP+ bboked in any 30 day period if offsite though.

So I need to have my stay ressie (DVC) and AP voucher number both plugged in before I can do stuff?

And what about Magic Bands, do you still collect those at check in if you're from the UK?

Yes, you need to link your (DVC) reservation so the system knows you are staying onsite and your AP voucher number (this won't activate your pass and you will need to go to Guest Relations to show DVC ID and photo ID, to activate your AP before you can use it) separately. You will pick up Magic Bands when you check in at the resort.

2013 was our last trip so we've only done the whole Magic Band thing once before, and this year we're doing DL, so my memory of how it all works (even without the AP and DVC factors) is a bit hazy!

As well as your resort bands, you can also order your AP bands to be sent to the resort, just give it 2 weeks notice. Then you get your AP slider

You can only order your AP bands once you have an active pass. Once you have an active pass then you will have an order appear in your MagicBand section for them.

Ah I didn't know that! I had assumed it was a new thing and they just weren't shipping at all for UK APs

Yes - I think they say allow 10 days but I would do it before your next visit.

TBH the slider really isn't that great - we have a load in a pot and have never worn them!

It won't be linked with the AP. It'll turn up on your MDE account once you activate the passes on the first day

Yep, you can go to Guest Services and pay the difference
