Annual Pass and Hotel Discounts

Anyone know how much of a discount you get on the DLR Hotels with an annual pass?

You can get some pretty steep discounts on the resort hotels with an AP...sometimes. Usually offered in the off season with not very much notice. The best rate we have gotten with the special "AP Night" discount was $89.00 for the GCH in January of 2006.

If you are able to be flexible with your travel dates and are willing to be borderline OCD with calling and checking to see if the rates have been released yet then it's a great thing!

If we were not Ap holders then we would never be able to go to DL 3 to 4 times per year like we have been.

The typical discount is 10% off rack rate.

I'm assuming you have to buy the AP before you can get the rates.

Not really. if you dont the AP right this moment, you can still ask for the AP discount, and on the last day of your stay, or first, i forget, but im pretty sure its the last day of checkout, you present your AP and they will deduct your discount at checkout. so, if you cant activate your AP until you get into the park, dont worry, as long as your getting it activated before you leave, you will be fine.

You don't have to have an AP when you book, but they do ask for it when you check-in.

Must just be bad luck, but we have always been asked for an AP # when getting discounted quotes.

Our AP's just expired. I checked 5 or 6 times during the year (off-season) and couldn't ever get a good AP rate besides the 10%. Most of the better rates were for better views and made the rooms still more expensive than a standard view. You may luck out getting a great rate, but I wouldn't count on fantasic rates for AP holders.

For what it is worth, I called yesterday and the CM said that they were not forecasting for offering the good AP deals for May.
