Is anyone going? I will be in WDW on the 12th so I decided I will attend. Is it worth it? Being a Disney freak (I think anyone on DIS can easily be in this category :wave2:) I might get enjoyment, even from a condo meeting.

Unless they change the format, you sit for 80 minutes as the Disney executives and general managers conduct their required business meeting passing motions. They also get a report from their accountant and they might give a brief status on DVC projects.

We've done these in the past and if it coincided with one of our visits would probably go again. Like the OP, I'm a hard-core Disney nut.

At the meetings we've gone to, there were some light refreshments and at least once a character appearance. The PP is correct about the actual meeting business, there isn't anything for a member to do other than be amused. Normally after the regular business meeting there will be an open Q&A period. However answers are very couched in Disney-speak so don't expect to nail them down on something. It is a good opportunity however to make suggestions about future directions and at least indicate personal preferences.

Last year they remove all entertainment and the Q&A portion of the meeting.

This year who knows what they will do.

Interesting. Doesn't sound like there's much reason to go at all now.

I'm trying to remember the management change dates for DVD/DVC.

Lewis was fired, and at the next meeting Bilby, our new leader had a party with over the top entertainment and a promise of transparency. The next year she cut out the entertainment and Q&A, shortly there after she was let go and Potrock was brought over from DTD. If my dates are correct, this would be his first meeting so anything might happen. party:

Personally I would never waste valuable Disney time at one of those meetings.

Jim Lewis was fired late July/early August 2011. I remember because it was right before I went to D23 in August 2011.

I'll be there yet again this year. It feels like an annual ritual.

If there is a Q&A session, then I would like to ask if the classic resorts will receive bed scarves, to accompany the triple sheeting.

We're going for the first time. I figure as owners it would be good to go at least once. We've never been to WDW in December before...and probably won't again in December for a few years so...

I will look forward to hearing a full report from those who do! We'll be stuck at home.

YES!!!! Please somebody ask if we can add some theme back into the resort rooms with the new triple sheeting. Nothing more boring in a studio than a plain white bed. So dissappointing to look at. I hope they add bed scarfts!
