Obviously increases in dues are expected but how do you feel about the amount of annual due increases from when you first bought? Is it what you expected and fair, better than you expected or worse? Do you think the percentage is right for the increases every year or did the amount suprise you?

Starting to think you should just have a thread dedicated to all of your questions 😂 but to answer your question, I'd say ours are fair. Our Aulani is subsidized dues so that one obviously makes me happy. Rivieras dues have increased but not that much. Animal Kingdom has increased some but it's to be expected with maintaining a miniature savanna on the resort. Them animals ain't cheap but they're worth it. As a whole for DVC I also think the increases are fair especially when you compare it to how much Disney is raising room prices.

I did the same thing when i first joined... it was like all of a sudden all the questions I was yelling at Y0uTube were actually going to be heard and answered. :)

I know i annoy some people, but i don't care 🤷‍♀️ some people like my topics and discussing different things and I am here to get information and for those people. I have gotten a ton of info by posting seperate topics every day so that now I am totally confident in this major purchase and not just jumping into something without knowing everything. In the end, I'm here to get the best deal for myself and my family and I don't care if it's annoying. I will do anything to make that happen and the moderator said it was fine

Lol I'm not annoyed but I promise we would be answering all of your questions regardless of if they were in a single thread vs. in multiple threads. The only downside to you doing it the way you are is you flood out all of the other DVC threads where there's likely a lot of information you would benefit from. Regardless, keep posting as many threads as youd like because like you said Sandi approved it.

I will try it and see if I get as many responses 🤣🤣

Yeah I have learned so much here that if people want me to stop posting they need to stop answering my questions 🤣🤣
Ha, it's all good.

You would be surprised by how many of these answers are already posted in here. Not a big deal, but you may be surprised what you can find by using the search (top right), just search key words only. I probably asked a ton of the same questions just a year or so ago. :)

We all did and I get it, it's a really exciting product to learn and your family will benefit more the more educated you are about your membership. That's why I'm not annoyed but regardless keep asking away OP because obviously we love talking about it. I didn't think I'd still be on this website over 2 years later discussing it but here I am.

Your right tho I also don't want to be rude and have people potentially miss out on new info so I'm going to start a girlstar30 dvc super thread and see how it goes 🤣🤣

Yeah, AKV w/ its 6+% increase this year was steep (only OKW went up more.) I don’t attribute that to the animals though - we pay less than 50 cents a point for animal programs.
I find dvcnews.com to be a great resource for gaining in depth knowledge about DVC, for example here’s an article giving the annual dues for every DVC resort since DVC started https://dvcnews.com/dvc-program-menu/financial/annual-dues-by-resort & here’s an article showing the % increases for each resort this year w/ links showing each resort’s budget. https://dvcnews.com/dvc-program-men...y-vacation-club-annual-dues-released-for-2025

If it weren’t for folks asking questions here and others giving their answers or opinions in response this site would be nothing more than trip reports and therefore pretty lame and pointless … keep asking away

+1

I went to check on your behalf, and Annual Dues (and historical info) is literally Chapter 1 of the DVCFieldGuide which a number of people have recommended to you. I think if you get it and just read thru the Chapter Titles you'll see a lot of topics you've not even asked about (sometimes we don't know what we don't know). If you look thru that it might give you a better overview.

If you are just "curious" about buying DVC I'd ask questions here, but spending $15 on something that pulls it all into a practical format would be a ridiculously small investment if you are at all serious. And a lot of what is in there is used by old-timers for every trip they plan long after they've bought contracts.

To put it another way, feel free to ask questions, but I'd be asking the questions I'm confused about, not the basics you can learn from a simple publication. And to clarify, that guide exists because to get the basic info you'd have to ask 100's of questions and visit a number of sites. And you'd still likely get some wrong or outdated info on the web ;)

I’d also add that by searching and finding an answer (or even one that’s remotely close) it’ll often take you down an entirely different rabbit hole and you’ll walk away knowing more than you thought possible 🤣. Example - my searches on December CCV studio availability took me down the rabbit hole of Favorite Weeks (which hadn’t been on my radar at all) and eventually led to my buying one.

So agree with others - we’re all happy to answer your questions but there’s value in searching too.

I also love the DVC Field Guide. There are many resources on the website that you don't have to buy the guide for, but it is also well worth the price to buy the guide. Just this week I went back to my copy to look a few things up.
