Annual Assessments--VB vs. BLT

Just got our annual assessment for the 3 resorts we own points at. Not sure if I had my head under a rock or what....The bill for Vero Beach is double what BLT is, even though we have only 11 more points there.

Maybe someone could enlighten me, is it because of those hurricanes that went thru a few years ago, or because the original points were cheaper?

After this last trip, we realized there isn't much to do there, and we probably won't go back. Does Disney buy back points, never had any to get rid of before?

VB is a stand alone DVC resort. BLT shares amenities and costs with the Contemporary.

Also, VB has to maintain the beach and relatively large lawn areas well.

Maybe the property taxes are higher there. I would think that the insurance cost for a beach resort would cost more than an inland resort.

You can call Member Accounting to ask if Disney is buying back any contracts and if so, at what rate. AFAIK, they are not buying any contracts right now except for BCV and that is via ROFR.
