Anntenae Toppers

Hi

I think that I saw a thread about anntenae toppers but of course now I can't find it.

I have numerous toppers and I was wondering if there is a way to clean them so I can get the road salt off of it. In the winter the salty snow makes the black go gray. I am sure that other people you live in snow areas have noticed this as well.

Any tips would be great!

I have them too but I usually end up replacing them instead of cleaning them. Sorry I can't help.

Try Bartenders Friend and a toothbrush. I used it on my Swinging Goofy and it cleaned it up nicely.

I saw the coolest thing at Days of Christmas at DTD on Monday.... they had holiday antenna toppers all in one package. They had Christmas, Easter, Valentines Day, St Patricks Day, Easter and Halloween. It was a pretty good savings from buying them individually. I already had the Christmas and Halloween one that was in there, so it wouldn't have saved me anything to purchase it, but anyone who doesn't have them, it is a great deal!

I think the sun also fades them out, especially black. There is really no way to make gray black again. I just replace mine when they get too washed out.

Actually it is not just the road salt... it is the sun, as well. I have what was a very bright yellow Mickey head hanging from my rear view mirror, and even though it is inside the car, it has definitely faded out.

I would just buy a new one when possible, as nothing is going to restore the color.

what i usually do is buy acrylic paint from Michael's (3 for $1.00) and have my little ones re-paint & restore their color. they love it doing it!

I love my antenna toppers - I just started collecting them since October so I only have the following
Halloween (pumpkin that I think looks like Pooh with ears)
Thanksgiving (brown pilgram hat with ears)
Christmas (Rudolph with ears)
white smiley face (with Mickey hat and sunglasses) - this is the one I have on now

and I got one back around Easter time last year but didn't use it on the antenna (I used it as decoration on my desk at work, because I didn't know how DH would feel about it being on the truck (he isn't a Disney fanatic like me) - come to find out he loves them and wished I would have gotten him one this last trip I went on.

I had my Camoflaged Mickey stolen of the car last month...=(

Had it since may of 03 when my brother went to iraq, now my nephew is over there and was hoping to keep it until they both didnt have to go back.
