Annoying Pop-ups, driving me crazy!

Everytime I go to a new site or another window, I'm innundated with pop-ups. These things are driving me crazy! I know that someplace out there, there has to be a way to eliminate these things. Does anyone know if there is any shareware or freeware that can be downloaded to help me get my sanity back?

There are programs, but all will also interfere with the necessary popups that are required when visiting certain areas of the Net, like some password entries and the like. If you never visit ANY place that requires a popup of some sort (which is unlikely) then you could use a program like that. Most people who do install them take them out after a time as they interfere as much as they help. Popups seem, for the time, an irritating part of the Net, not unlike a billboard, it is just there.

Popups were driving me completely crazy as well. If you go to
http://www.panicware.com/ they have a pretty good one. I have used it for awhile now. They have a bunch of ones they try and sell you, but if you go to the download section, there is one that can be downloaded for free. As Dan pointed out, there are some websites where you do need that popup, however this program allows you to hit the ctrl key to allow the popup.

Just an idea, hope it helps.
