I am so mad

We were meant to be having our new sofa bed delivered today and having made all sorts of arrangements so I could be here to accept the delivery I got home at 8:30 which I was told was the first delivery time to find that the driver had already been.

The card that was left told me to ring the store which I duly did in order to try and catch them to come back again only to find that no one was there to pick up the phone until 9:00.

The assistant in the store phoned the driver and he is not coming back now having returned to the store and left the item there. Obvioulsy he must have been unloading the sofa bed whilst I was franticly trying to ring the store to get it all sorted out!

Now they are coming tomorrow which I suppose isn't too bad but I am just extremely annoyed that I have had to make a ton of arrangements at work to be here today and now it is all for nothing

Rant over! ;)

I feel your rant Alan! seems totally strange that in this day and age of lightning quick communication that stores cannot set a better target for deliveries!

Alan

You rant away, It will make you feel better, lol.

I know how you feel, things like this are so annoying, esp when you have taken time off from work.

I remember when I was having Sky put in, 3 times they failed to turn up on the day they said they would, and I, like you was furious, after booking 3 days of my annual leave only to be sat at home all day.

I hope they get it sorted for you tomorrow.

Sue

I totally relate!

We were given a morning delivery for DD's new bed so MIL waited in till it was time to go pick DD up from school at 3:00 and of course at 3:30 the bed turned up with needless to say no-one at home to accept delivery :rolleyes1 This happend twice, eventually one month later we finally got the bed :earseek: Thank goodness MIL is on hand for such things.

Hope you get your delivery soon.

Customer service is one of the things that annoys DH the most about living in the UK!

We have found recently that customer service is often poor.

Waited in all day recently to have some work done on our home, we should have been the first job in the morning, they turned up at 4pm.

It's just as bad when you have something delivered, you get a timeslot of 9am to 5pm which basically means you are stuck in for the day until they arrive.

 I hate it when that happens, last week I had to stay in between 12 & 6pm for the Gas Board and they didn't arrive - I was furious

Thank you all for your symapthy :)

I have calmed down now :teeth:

I agree with all your comments about poor customer service though. And I never understand why once the delivery schedule has been worked out (I presume they just don't randomly drive around with these things) That they don't call you and let you know when they are coming!!

Anyway I look forward to them delivering it tomorrow when no doubt they will turn up extra early just to disrupt my lie in ;)

Get used to it Alan, when babyUK arrives there'll be nomore lie ins!!

Alan,

Don't talk to me about bad customer service!! I've just signed up with a new broadband ISP and have been having a few "challenges" with the connection. I've now had to make four 45 minute 0870 phone calls to an Indian call centre and still have no firm resolution.

Good job some nice people in my area are allowing me to "leech" their wireless HSIA!!!

Andy

We know how you feel Alan. The customer service in this counrty is terrible. Hope the sofa bed turns up first thing so your not waiting round and wasting another day :)

This has happened to us so many times, it really is annoying!!

hope tomorrow will be better!

Last time I took a day off work to wait for parcel delivery I also had to pick DD up from school a 3pm - it takes 10 minutes to walk round to the school and back - yes you've guessed it! Just as I turned the corner back into our road the van was just pulling away!

They had left a card, so I had to make a special trip to the depot the next days to pick the parcel up!

I'm mad too Alan. I was supposed to have had a corner suite a sofa delivered 2 weeks ago from DFS and I'm still waiting. Whats worse is I got rid of my old suite so I wouldn't end up with two!! Supposedly it will be here this Monday coming now.
6 of us have 1 sofa bed and some bean bags to share!!

That has happened to us so many times. It really ticks me off now.

You wait in all day and then the delivery driver turns up and makes you feel as if he is doing you a favour by actually delivering the goods.

I know it is the most annoying thing to use a precious day's annual leave for this anyway - and then if they don't turn up!!

The sofa bed arrived this morning around 9am :)

DH has calmed down now...... ;)

Same here. It's just so frustrating. Given up with these people now, any ideas on who else is good out there with the minimum of problems/fuss?

I've always been fine with AOL Annie but I have to stress they get a lot of bad press. I am just too lazy to change ;)

Ditto. We have been with AOL for about 3/4 years and they have been fine for us. I like the AOL browser far more than Internet Explorer, and despite what lots of people report, the DISBoards work fine on AOL for me (and that's the one website which counts!). I like the option for different screenames as well, plus the parental controls and free support.
