Annoyed w/trying to make last minute ressie's

My own fault I know! We decided to try to go February vacation week basically for some R&R at the resorts.

We called for WL and they wouldn't accept the codes (general or ap) said they had nothing available for that. Gave dh some other options. By the time we mulled over it and decide we could do port orleans, we now can't get that at either code! Yes I know it's our own fault for not jumping on it faster.

My question is... I've sometimes heard that some people taking ressies (can't remember their official name) are better than others. Is there a chance if we call and get someone new that we'll be able to use the codes available?

Any advice. Problem is we need two rooms (4 kids) so it gets expensive really fast!!

The general rule is that you keep trying... book something now at a rate you can live with.. perhaps at the value resorts.. and then keep calling... 7 days our and 5 days out alot of availability arises as people cancel at the last minute before they get charged... or move to another resort....so.. call everyday... a couple of times a day if you have the time... and try splitting your stay.. sometimes that works... a room may not be available for say 6 nights.. but will be for 2 or 3..and the same at another resort... give it a whirl.. It can't hurt!! That's how I finally got my coveted Boardwalk Inn Postcard rate room... just booked it this morning... I arrive on Friday... I had the wilderness lodge booked for the whole stay.. but am now staying at teh Boardwalk for my first 2 nights and then moving over to the Wilderness Lodge... As of Last week there was NOTHING available at my rate at the Boardwalk.. but I kept trying.. and trying.. and trying.. Just don't give up!!

I would keep trying back since you might have luck, but since you want to go during Feb vacation week, there's a good chance that all the rooms available at that rate are already booked. There might be some cancellations and I've heard conflicting opinions on whether those discounted rooms become available at the code rate or the regular rack rate. It's worth trying, but since you're so close to when you want to go and it's a popular time, there might not be any discounted rooms left.

i would also keep trying. how about trying to get 2 rooms at one of the all stars, and if not with the code do you have AAA cause you can still get a discount with that. that way if you can get 2 rooms at all stars then you can still keepy trying for another hotel or even when you get there see if anything is available. cause if avail. comes up when you arrive you can switch then. good luck im sure something will come up. wish we were going now to get away from the COLD... lol.
