We just found out that we are expecting our first baby, and we are visiting Disney World next week with my parents. We are trying to think of a creative way to announce our pregnancy at the parks. Anybody done this before or can think of a creative idea?

Congratulations ! You could make a sign up and when you have your picture taken with Mickey ask him to hold it up so they could read it.

That would be fun! My thought would be to have a character sign an autograph page that already said "to my friends grandma and grandpa" or something similar.

DH just suggested you should try to hire Mary Poppins and tell her you'd need her to start in 9 mos or so!

You could get them Mickey and Minnie ears and personalize them with Grandma and Grandpa.

I like this ^^^^ idea!!!

Congrats!

Whatever you plan, make sure you can announce it soon and in your own way. My SIL was forced to admit her condition at my wedding when 3/4 of the family looked at her and said, "What do you mean, you're not going to ride the roller coaster?" Friends have been similarly outed when they suddenly start saying "No" to wine or martinis.

I announced 2 pregnancies while at DisneyWorld, but not when the other people were there, we took pictures and sent them home to announce it.

the first time I got a "first visit" button and pinned it to my tummy for a picture. You could always just wear the button on your tummy and see how long it takes your family to figure it out.

The second time I knelt down in front of the DHS hat and my first DD kissed my tummy. My grandparents had also given us $$ to have a drink for them around the world, so I took another picture in front of the F&W festival sign of my DH with wine and me looking disgruntled and empty handed.

Congrats on your pregnancy!

You could buy a pink and a blue Mickey balloon and give it to them.
You could also buy a storybook in a gift shop and write a note that says "please read this in November (or whenever you are due)"
You could also get a podium cake delivered to your table during a meal and tell them you are celebrating.

It's a lot of work hiding pregnancies from families and friends! I remember faking cocktails, and poor DH drinking way more wine than he wanted! :rotfl2:

I'm guessing you have been to Disney before (totally a guess) but anyway, What about getting a "first visit" button and putting it on your belly...OR taking the first sono pic and handing that and the button to your parents? OR if you have the Disney Visa...go to the photo shoot in EPCOT-You'll get a free 5X7 and have the button, sono pic and the characters there with you...ask the photo pass photog to get a close up and get that as your free 5x7...give that to your parents at dinner...

You could have a cake announcing the news made and presented during one of your ADRs. Anything you decide will be wonderful and magical! Congratulations!

I just wanted to say Congratulations!! I am no good at surprises and hope you find the perfect way to reveal.

Congratulations! I found out two weeks ago I am pregnant with #4! We are going with our other three in 2 weeks. I know there is some construction going on and I'm hoping to find a disney under construction sign and then take a picture next to it, then when I get home photoshop an arrow and then have it point to the belly for when I'm ready to announce. The kids don't know yet and only my hubby knows.

I hope you come back and post how you delivered the great news! Hope you have a great and uneventful pregnancy!

what about buying a "baby's 1st Christmas" ornament (Disney style, of course)from one of the Christmas stores and presenting it to your parents for their tree?

Whatever you decide to do - make sure someone's got the camera/camcorder ready to capture reactions! Congrats to you!

I love the button and the hat ideas! Please post an update here with the results!!!! Congrats Mama!!!
