I didn't see this directly addressed.
As you approach the entrance to the ship at the end of the gangway(at the ship), you may have an opportunity to hand a note to the CM, prior to your announcement. That is when, if desired, you could hand a piece of paper indicating exactly what you want to be said for your announcement.
They usually ask your last name fwiw.
I have said "wait." Trying to hand over a note over to CM with specifics.
Then they said "welcome the waits." So be careful. lol.
The CM's are fast and obviously have to board lots of pax, so ....
This is how we have handled all of our announcements.
Of course you could always verbalize the announcement to the CM as usual, if it is simple.
Generally the CM at the hatch asks you last name. And that is the name they announce as you board, unless you interrupt them and say something else or hand them a note.
I feel a note speeds things up, as you can understand and imagine.
Oh, but we board early. Does this work for all pax? It could regardless. Just ask, and hand a piece of paper over with explicit instructions if you feel needed. Just pay attention as you approach the vessel.
A sample of our notes;
Example; "Sophie and princess Sasha from Virginia."
They will add "Welcome Sophie and princess .......etc.
In fact I recall it working for all boarding, usually.
In fact this is what I do aboard now. I watch folks board and be announced. It's my thing, like meets and greets. lol
And I have heard it all once aboard. So the note works.
Just watch for it. It happens quick. Especially if it is your first sailing in that port.
Happy Announcement and Sailing
