Anniversary/Wedding Cake ordered, any questions??

My DH and I are staying at SSR on our upcoming trip. I wanted to surprise him with a little anniversary cake waiting for us in our room. I called 1-800-828-0228 and they gave me the phone # for SSR. I asked to be transferred to the food and beverage service. When they answered I explained what I wanted and they had me hold so I could speak with one of the Chefs at Artist's Palatte. Chef Daniel was extremely helpful. He took my phone # and called me back immediately (2 mins) so he could go to his office and get the form to fill out. He said that they would order the cake from the Grand Floridian for me and have them deliver it to SSR and they would sneak it into our room on our anniversary while we are at the park. The cake options we discussed were: 6 inch cake available in vanilla, chocolate and something else I can't remember now . He said the 6 inch cake will feed 4 people and was around $12ish. I ordered the 8 inch cake (so we can nibble on it all week and share it with family ) he said it will feed 6 people. It is available in vanilla cake with white chocolate filling and buttercream icing or chocolate cake with dark chocolate filling and chocolate buttercream icing. The 8 inch cake is $25. He also said they would put something like "Happy Anniversary" on it. He did ask me to come by the Artist's Palatte the day we check in and ask for him so I can tell him my room # and he would make sure that the cake was delivered to our room while we are at the park on Oct. 3rd. He took my CC info over the phone and will give it to the GF bakery to charge. I forgot to ask him if there will be a delivery charge from the GF, however the way he stated that they would just order it from the GF bakery and have them send it to SSR didn't give me the impression there would be. Any questions??? Hope this helps...

Thanks for the info. We will be getting a birthday and graduation cake from the GF bakery for our upcomung trip in December. I was told to call back and order the cakes about 1 week before they are needed. The cake and filling options sounded yummy. Susan

Thanks for the info! We are going to be at SSR celebrating our 10th anniversary from Oct 2-7! Our real anniversary is Sept 2, but due to our son starting school, we just waited a month! I would love to have a cake for us to celebrate with, I'm just hoping my husband doesn't read this and does the same (he is pretty thoughtful). So, I'm going to call that number right now! Hope you have a great trip and maybe we'll run into you!

Good luck with your order, I hope they are as helpful as they were for me. Good to know there will be at least one fellow DISer at SSR while we are there. Maybe we'll run into each other...

Wiggles02: happy belated anniversary! we share the same date and are going in October due to finalization on DD adoption! So we too are celebrating a bit late.

I am ordering the cake as a surprise for DH, but am having it delivered to a resaurant at the GF where we will be dining..not sure which yet though!

My sneaky Dh pulled this stunt on me last year for our annv. He went to Tony's and talked to someone and got a cake delivered to our table for dessert. It just says congradulations on it I believe. The entire dessert part of meal my friend spent trying to figure out what flavoring they used b/c it was so good. I'm sure yours will be much more personal and just as good.
