Hi, I'm taking my wife to DW in June for our anniversary as a surprise trip. Haven't really planned anything yet other than a hotel (Boardwalk near Epcot). Any suggestions for an anniversary trip?

TONS!

We are going for our anniversary in May - next week - and have been booking like CRAZY!

Think about things the two of you like to do - rides, meals, etc. Most of the restaurants should be available with reservations - but some are not. Nonetheless, keep trying. Absolutely would suggest table service restaurants in EPCOT - especially being so close - for a meal. Most won't disappoint. Especially if you choose first by type of restaurant. We are both Mediterranean fans - and will dine at Tangierine Cafe - a counter service - but family tradition. We are also eating at San Angel. It was a place that when we went with kids a few years ago, my wife said, "We are so eating there when we return." When we went last year, when we perused the menu, thought all the kids wouldn't love it - so we booked if for us only.

How about the place nearby, too?

Since you're right there - any of the restaurants at the Boardwalk, Beach Club, or Swan / Dolphin would work, too. If you have any interest in Kouzzina (sp?) book it - because it's closing, soon.

Most of the TS restaurants in MK have mediocre reviews - but Liberty Tree Tavern seems to get the best marks - even better than Be Our Guest - which is a near IMPOSSIBLE reservation to get. Keep trying - and try right before the day if you are REALLY interested.

I've been underwhelmed with the AK TS choices, but the AK Lodge has three GREAT options. And with closure there -if you have park hoppers - you could leave AK, go to the lodge for dinner, and catch fireworks nearly anywhere else that evening.

I'd suggest a guidebook. Passporter or Unofficial Guide are both excellent. While nearly all of the information can be easily found online here - it will be difficult to sort through all of it.

Good luck and happy anniversary. Make those reservations soon!

We did the exact same trip about 3 years ago. Left our son with his aunt and took off. By staying at Boardwalk you will have a wide choice of restaurants. For our actual anniversary dinner we ate at The Coral Reef. Food, service, and atmosphere was incredible. We watched the fire works from the bridge between England and France. Then we had desert in France. Really great experience.

Same boat here, although we're going in September.

I'll give you the same advice I follow. Make plans as much as you can in advance, because it gives you the most possible flexibility to be spontaneous on a romantic vacation. So book a restaurant reservation for most nights, so that you know you have someplace nice to eat. But don't be afraid to call up and cancel the night before if you guys decide to go off-site or a different park or something.

Since you'll be on the Boardwalk already, do check out Jellyrolls one of the evenings you'll be there. It's a lot of fun. You're also close to Downtown Disney, and if you haven't seen the Cirque show "La Nouba" yet, you may want to look into tickets. It's fun and one of those underrated things at Disney.

If you can handle the prices, there's always dinner at Victoria & Albert's. It's not just dinner, but an entire dinner experience, but you'll pay probably $500 minimum, so just be aware of that. That said, no kids are allowed and men are required to wear jackets, so it's definitely an up-scale sort of night. We're doing this on our anniversary night.

Really, there's no end to the things you can do just as a couple. Even just touring some of the other resorts can be a lot of fun when you can slow down and enjoy the little details.

Have a great trip! :)

We visited on our 10th anniversary. You may have done some of these things already, but we hadn't done a lot of them and they really added a lot to our visit.

La Nouba
Rent a boat and spend some time together on the Disney waterways.
We ate at a different sit-down restaurant every night we were there. If you like seafood, Blue Zoo in the Dolphin was excellent, IMO.
Rent a surry-bike and go for a spin around one of the resorts.
DW spent a morning at the spa at the Dolphin while I took the KTTK tour.

Just some suggestions. Hope you have a fabulous trip and anniversary!

... You're also a boat ride away from Downtown Disney, and if you haven't seen the Cirque show "La Nouba" yet, you may want to look into tickets...

There is no boat from the Boardwalk to Downtown Disney. You will need to catch a bus. Boat service from the Boardwalk area is to HS and Epcot.

If you like steak, consider Shula's at the Dolphin. Since it's not on the dining plan, it is usually easy to get a reservation.

I stand corrected, thank you! You can tell I haven't stayed at the Boardwalk yet. ;)

You can also look into reservations for dinner at California Grill at the Contemporary, from which you can watch the fireworks (may be tough to obtain this close but check for cancellations). The food is not as expensive as V&A but still delicious and "event-worthy."

You might also enjoy the Tomorrowland Dessert Party for fireworks viewing, and Epcot's After Hours Wind-Down drinks/food event.

Which anniversary?

I took my wife on a surprise trip for our 10th (not Disney, a NASCAR race :lmao:). I called her boss ahead of time and arranged the time off. Then, I let her begin to get ready for work the day we were leaving. 10th is "tin" or "paper". So, I taped the race tickets to the lid of a little tin I found in the basement.

Our 10th too.

Thanks for all the suggestions - I got reservations for Bluezoo in the dophin one night and a late epcot after hours reservation for another night. Have another night to fill but not sure what park we will be at so I'll probably let her decide when we get there.

Thanks to all.
