Ok folks, so I'm new here - but I've been a lurker, and I'm a Disney fanatic!
Regardless, my 'wife' and I are going to Disney for our 3rd anniversary in November. Now, we actually went to Disney for our FIRST anniversary, but it was a HUGE family girls trip, so we didn't do anything too exciting with the fam there and all.
We were able to get away on our anniversary for dinner though. We spent that at the Rainforest Grill at AK. It was good.. "VOLCANO!" but this time we're going alone.
I've planned to make ADR's for that day at the Garden Grill, because she really wants to try that, and we're on a budget so we're doing lunch.
I'd love to get an anniversary pin, but of course they are so 'gender' oriented (what with mickey and minnie - where's the minnie and daisy ones?) I don't know. THought about making my own.
Any other ideas for something fancy to do that day/night? We'll be in EPCOT... or any ideas for the whole week we'll be there? I thought about a horse drawn carriage ride at the Port Orleans Riverside.
I'd love some ideas.. :cutie:

Thanks and HI!!

Congrats on your anniversary and hope you have a blast planning and going on your trip!

:cool1: Welcome!

For pins - I suggest you do a search on pinpics.com This is a database of pins available as people enter them. I found 131 pins that met the search for happy anniversary. Some only have castles, others have M&M on them.

Once you have your search completed, double click on the picture of the pin you like and see if it is a rack pin that is easily available.

I was reading another thread - and somone suggested that the large Mickey
"ear" ornament inscribed with a personal note of the event was a little more special than a premade item. Just a thought!

I celebrated two years with my DBF over Christmas. It was actually me doing research on google for romantic ideas at Disney that brought me to the DIS!

We used the generic pins they have and a dream squad member wrote 2 years on the pin for us. We also bought the Mickey top hats and wore those around so even though the buttons are Mickey and Minnie, no one had a problem getting the hint hehe.

As far as romantic things you can do for an anniversary dinner, there are numerous things and it really just depends on if you want to fork out the money. You mentioned you're on a budget, so go to dinner at Victoria and Alberts followed by a Wishes Fireworks cruise probably isn't gonna do it for ya:banana:

I gave him a new ring in front of the partner statue and then later in the trip we rented a sea ray and rode out to the middle of the lake in front of MK and dropped our old rings so that a part of us is at Disney forever.

I've heard you can stroll along the beach at Ohana, catch the water electrical parade thing and then watch wishes. If you want to have the feel of an anniversary dinner, you could pay for Mears to bring a luxury car to your hotel, pick you up, take you to dinner, and take you back to the hotel. We did that since we had to be all dressed up for Vic and A's and we didn't exactly wanna ride the Disney bus or monorail in suit coats :rotfl:

A nice stroll on the boardwalk is always fun. You can rent those bicycles built for two and get ice cream somewhere or something.

There are all kinds of things. I'll try and find the list that I had before we went. The cool thing about Disney(as you know) is that it's all about environment. You can take something as simple as a walk and it's a different experience in each location. aaahhh how I miss it!

Hi there! My partner and I went to Disney for our honeymoon and we had matching t-shirts made that had a disney character on them with the month and year on them. I can't find a photo unfortunately, but mine was Tinkerbell (of course!) and then bellow her it said Tolliver Honeymoon, October 2001. We got several comments on them from some CMs.

I know you mentioned you were on a budget, but dinner at California Grill is FABULOUS and Wishes there is a must do, IMO. Maybe you could swing it by cutting back in some other area. I know it is hard, but just an idea. We had to skrimp and save for our honeymoon. Whatever you do I am sure you will have a fab time.

Have fun planning!

yeah I agree. California Grill is like the second in line to Vic and A's at a significant price reduction! If you pick your courses lightly, you can eat for 40/person at CG. Make sure you mention it is your anniversary when you make the reservations. We got to the platform on 3rd floor 20 min early but were told there was a 40 min delay from our reservation time. We got our beepers, sat down, and it went off. Peculiar eh? They have a number of tables set aside for special events and they make sure to keep them clear. They also just happen to have the best view of the fireworks from inside. Otherwise you can also go outside on the observatory.

Also remember if you were to go there for lunch, you can come back and watch Wishes at night. You don't have to be eating there at the time of Wishes to watch it if you've been a guest during the day.

Gosh now I wanna go back!
