Well, here I am back again from a trip to Universal Orlando for less than a 1/2 hour and I am already having withdrawals. We had an awesome weekend and now are ready to plan the next trip!

Betty Boop: Lovely wife who came up with the idea of our anniversary and her birthday Celebration at Universal Orlando.
SpideyHulk Jr: son who joined us on the last day of our trip because Mom and Dad felt guilty leaving him.
Okay, here is how it all started. As many of you know we stayed on site for the first time in July at the RPR. Ever since then, we fell in love with Universal and try to get back there every chance we get. We live close to Universal Orlando so getting there is no problem. After our first trip, we were going to return next August for a longer stay. However my wife and I were planning on celebrating our wedding anniversary and her birthday and she suggested we do it at Universal!!!! I love her!!!!! During that time, Portofino came out with awesome Fl. resident rates and they had the special for annual passes for 2 years. So with her encouragement, we booked our stay and bought our annual passes!!!!!
10/04: I woke up at 5:30 a.m. with excitement that in a few hours, I would be riding the Hulk. I picked up, made coffee and dropped off our son at my sister in laws house for the day. Went to the bank, and woke up the wife. We were on our way at about 8:30 a.m. We arrived at about 9:15 and checked into Portofino. All I can say is WOW!!!!! This resort is absolutely stunning!!!!!!!! We were just blown away with it all. There is something about it that makes it so romantic and you really do feel like you are in Italy. At the same time, it's perfect for families. We were greeted at checkin and started the process. Pat at the front desk was wonderful. She acknowledged our wedding anniversary, my wife's birthday and said she would be right back. After about 10 minutes, I am beginning to lose my patience, because Pat is no where to be found and the Hulk is just calling my name!!! LOL...
When Pat comes out, she says "Because you are Loews members and because of this special occasion, I could NOT get you a balcony." Just as I start to feel cranky, she says "but I did upgrade you to a deluxe room in club level" At this point I want to jump over the desk and kiss Pat because we booked a bayview standard room. She said " Don't change your room because we are sold out tonight." At this point, I was thinking, I won't change my room even if it smells!!! LOL...... So after deciding we wanted milk and cookies as our welcome gift, we get a bellman, store our luggage and head out to the harbor to catch a water taxi. We took the water taxi to Citywalk and arrived at IOA alittle after 10 a.m. We went to vacation services, redeemed our annual passes and I was riding the Hulk by 10:35. As usual, with express pass, I literally walked on to most of the rides. The longest we waited was 10 minutes for Spiderman. We rode the Hulk, Storm Force Acceletron, Dr. Doom, and Spiderman 3 times. We then headed to Toon Lagoon to do some shopping at the Betty Boop store. My wife loves this place. After some shopping we headed to Mythos for our 12 p.m lunch reservation. I have to pause here for just one second: I know many people rave about Mythos and I knew it would be good, but until you eat here you will not understand how great it truly is. We were seated by a window seat so we could view the Hulk from a far!!!! We had: me-tempura shrimp sushi, Balsamic chicken, and a diet coke. Wife- plantain nachos, Steak and we split a caesar salad. For dessert we shared the warm ooey gooey chocolate bananna cake with peanut butter icecream. I was in heaven. The bill with the tip was a little under $80.00. The service, atmosphere and food were superb!!!! I will definitely go back. After our lunch, we went to Poseidon's fury, dueling dragons and the Cat in the Hat. We were done by 2 p.m. We then decided to go to Universal Studios. Once we arrived at the Studios, we quickly rode Jimmy Neutron, Shrek and saw the Street Break dancing show. They were really great. By this time it was about 3:20 and we were going to see the infamous Ghostbusters show, as well as meet Fly Fly Eclipse and her mom. Just as I am wondering will she show up?????? I see a lovely young lady walking with the well known yellow seat cushion. I of course look at my wife and say "That's her!!!" and I said "Fly Fly???" She looks at me like "Who are you?" and I of course yell "It's me Spideyhulk!!!" We said our hellos, got to know eachother and saw the show. The Ghostbuster show really is a good show, but I don't want my wife going back there!!!!LOL.... Her, Fly Fly and even Fly Fly's mom, were very busy with viewing the gentlemen in the show!!!!!
After the show, we chatted some more when all of a sudden a woman walks up to us and says "You are SpideyHulk and you are Fly Fly!!!!" We smiled, and said yes. We also got to meet ccz1954!!!! It was so great!!! By the way, Chris we wanted to come see you at the HRH, but we just didn't have enough time. I was park commando as you can see!!!!! Hopefully we can meet up next time! After this we chatted, said our goodbyes and headed to MIB. We rode MIB, walked around and decided to head back to the resort for dinner. We took the water taxi back and headed to Mama Della's. This was really nice. We met mama and had a lovely, romantic dinner. I had the spinnach cannelloni and my wife had the cheese ravioli. We split the calmari appetizer and they give you bread and very tasty salad. I of course had a wonderful marshmallow milk shake and my wife had a pina colada. They found out it was our birthday and gave us dessert on the house. The strolling musicians also came over and sang to us. It was wonderful!!!! The total bill with the tip was about $65.00. Well worth it!!! After this we headed to the room, for my wife's surprise. You see, I had the room decorated with a Betty Boop theme for a "small birthday party." She was so surprised. We had cake, drinks and it was really nice. We watched some tv, and then went to bed for our next busy day.
10/05:
Oh no!!!! It's already check out!!!! Yes, our stay was for only one night. My sister in law dropped of our son because we decided to take him to the parks today. We checked out and headed to IOA. We arrived alittle after park opening and went to get my son's annual pass redeemed. We headed over to Croissant Moon bakery and had a nice breakfast. I had a cheese croissant and an orange juice, my wife had a cheese croissant and coffee and my son had a chocolate eclair with apple juice. Our bill was $14. After eating, I rode the Hulk of course, while my wife and son rode Storm Force Accelatron. We then rode Spiderman and did some shopping. After shopping we went to Camp Jurassic to play for a while and then headed back to Captain America Diner for lunch. My wife and I had the cheeseburger/onion ring/frie combo with a drink and my son had a hotdog. Total bill was around $22. After lunch we rode the Mystic Unicorn, and the Cat in the Hat. Walked around some more, snacked and shopped. We headed out to City Walk at about 3 p.m. After walking around, we headed to the Studios and hit Jimmy Neutron, Shrek, and walked around. We rode Back to the Future and were starting to feel really tired. After this we just roamed the park, watched Ghostbuster again at the request of my wife
and headed out to the Hard Rock Cafe. We had great service there as well. I had: shrimp fettucine, my wife had a steak and veggies, and our son had ice cream. It was a special day, so we didn't hold him to normal eating habits. Because of the buy one get one free coupon, our bill was only about $30 with the tip included. It was great. After dinner we headed back to Portofino via the walkway because my wife wanted to see the HRH up close from outside and take some pictures. After the walk, we picked up our bags and headed home!!!!!
Final thoughts: This trip was great. SHORT, but great. I can't wait to get back over there and I have only been home for such a short time. Meeting the Diser's was great and we loved the resort. If you are an Annual pass holder remember to present your card at all stores and restaurants for discounts!!!! Because it's all new to me, I forgot sometimes, but did save some money!One more thing that I wanted to mention, but decided to hold off until this section, was that I MET the DARK MARAUDER!!!!! So now I can say that I am one of the select few that know him, his identity and his work location. But I am sworn to secrecy, so don't ask. But I will say the Marauder was really nice and did something really nice for us. I won't mention what, as it may give his work location away. Thanks again Marauder!!!!

I'm so thrilled you where happy with PBH see me and Jessica tried to tell you. I also see you did get "my" room but where given something on that floor and similar. Tell us about club level did you even bother to try or see the offerings? I think they'd have to offer darn near a buffett for me to pay the price there asking for it. An upgrade at check in maybe but not there asking price. I am just thrilled you loved the hotel and mama's. And i know this is stupid and i've spent many days the last 2 years in the parks but i'll ask anyways what is the GBS and where is it in the parks for viewing? Please no tomatoes people. We spend a lot of time in the parks and i thought i had seen a lot of the attractions but somehow this has gotten over looked somehow. Thanks so much for the great meal reports and i know that was your first Mythos experience but may i recommend on another visit one of you try the pizza of the day. They are so yummy. My husband loves the platain dish too but it's just not my taste. Can't wait to hear even more details as the time grows closer for our trip this weekend only i'm not as lucky as you i'll be at that "other" resort. I'll be back home to PBH soon though maybe the holidays it's already churning in my head.
