Hey Everyone! I'm usually a lurker but I have a couple questions on our upcoming trip so I hope someone can give me some good advice :) and sorry if any of this has been asked- haven't really found a good answer yet.

In Sept my husband and I are heading down to the World for our 4th wedding anniversary. We have been multiple times and this time we are wanting a more laid back trip this time and try to relax haha
We are staying at Port Orleans Riverside for the first time. Our main focus of our trip is food and wine- we have never been before!

Okay here are my questions:
1) I was wanting to do BOG for breakfast. I found a 9:05 AM time but I am second guessing if I want to keep this. The park opens at 9 and I know on occasion the park will open early. While I want to be laid back on this trip, I don't want to miss out on an hour of our morning eating breakfast. We are morning people and like to get a lot done in the morning and take off some time in the afternoon. How long does the breakfast usually last? Is the breakfast worth missing out on that time we could be checking off our favorite attractions?

2) I am dedicating one full day for food and wine during our trip which will be a wednesday. Then on saturday we were going to DHS in the morning, going over to epcot for Via napoli for a late lunch and hit up food and wine again in the evening. I am second guessing going back on a saturday evening after hearing how crazy it is on a saturday. Should I do an evening Via Napoli ressie and hit up food and wine for lunch time or will it just be so crazy saturday that we won't even want to hassle with it?

3) How long does dinner usually last at Boathouse?

Thank you everyone for all your help! I really appreciate it!!! :)

I'm in the once is more than enough camp for BOG and I never tried breakfast there. I think your gut has already told you the answer.

If your talking about getting to springs, over to boat house, eating and getting somewhere else I would expect a minimum of 3 hours to do that and wouldn't be surprised if you came back after and said it actually took 4. In general, I think 1 1/2 hours for a normal table service is about what it takes. The question from there is travel to/from the place and then how long did they have you wait to be seated. Dinner shows add an hour. Chefs table, clear your schedule.

I'd avoid EPCOT on Saturday. But check a crowd calendar before you go. In my experience, Food and Wine is just so much nicer during the week that I can't stand to go on the weekends anymore.

I love BoG breakfast - and it CAN be done in about 30 minutes if you want to eat and run. However - I'd not select a 9:05 time on a day the park opens at 9 am (without EMH am). Get an ADR either at 8:40 or earlier or around 10:30. You'll miss that sweet time of short lines if you go at 9:05. I do think dining breakfast/lunch at BoG is a really nice thing to do and I recommend it. You've got time that if you keep looking - you can snag other times. Also - you can try getting two solo ADR's - as long as the times are within 5-15 minutes of each other.

F&W on a Saturday afternoon/evening? Gag. Long lines full of locals. Plan your F&W kiosks snacking for a weekday. It's fine to go to EPCOT on a Saturday during F&W - but not with the goal of going to the food kiosks. So - a table ressie is fine and doing other things at EPCOT is fine.

Boathouse - for the meal itself - TS for a couple typically takes about an hour - unless you are trying to rush it with quick ordering and requesting the check early. I plan 1.5 hours for a nice TS meal - especially if we plan to have a drink or order dessert. If you want to linger through the meal/order alcohol/linger over menu/order multiple courses/order coffee after dinner/take your time - it could be just under two. The transportation to and from Disney Springs - that's ALOT of time. If the goal is to leave a park and go to DS for dinner and then back to a park - this is a 4 hour adventure.

That's what I was worried about...Thank you :) I might have to rethink it!

Thank you for all our help!!! You gave me a lot to think about! I agree I like that sweet spot to get on rides before the crowds really get into the park. I will keep an eye out for an earlier ressie and if not we will probably just scrap it.

For the Boathouse, its our arrival day and we are spending the day/evening at Disney springs- we are staying at POR- we were hoping to eat dinner, then catch an Uber over to the Poly because there is a Halloween party that night and we were hoping to watch Hallowishes on the beach. I will look for a time that would allow us travel time.

Thank you!!! :)

AH - if Disney Springs is the intended destination for the day - then don't worry about the time it will take to have a nice dinner. I'm not sure I'd make the effort of going all the way over to Poly to catch Hallowishes - even using Uber. In my opinion, part of what makes that fireworks show special is the lighting on the castle, everyone in costume, and the mood in the park. I think if you plan on seeing Wishes in the park itself - or going to the actual party to see the show - then this side trip isn't worth it. I'd suggest just getting settled into bed early after your travel day - and ready hit the parks bright and early!
