Anniversary trip in February... Where would you stay?

My dh and I are planning to spend 5 nights in February for our 20th Anniversary. We are renting points to stay in a villa. Would you stay in AKL Kidani Village or Polynesian villas? The AKL will be undergoing some renovations but not sure what. These are the only two villas open that interest us.

AKV is a rolling soft goods refurbishment and it's unlikely to impact you much.

It really depends on the focus of your trip. The Poly lacks signature dining, but has good lounges and can connect to dining at the Grand Floridian and Contemporary easily. AKL has good dining including a signature, and as a guest there you can also do a safari on the savannah around the resort.

Merits to either.

Of the two you mention, I would choose the Poly. It is a beautiful resort and is close to the MK. You can also walk up to the GF for additional dining possibilities.

I have always felt that the AKL is a bit away from the action. Though perhaps that is what you are looking for.

I am curious, did you rule out one of the Epcot resorts or were they not available? We found the ability to wander over to the World Showcase in the evening quite enjoyable. The Boardwalk is our favorite.

Wishing you a magical 20th anniversary!

Of these two, I would go with Poly, for it's proximity to MK and monorail access to Epcot.

If I had my ultimate choice, I would choose Boardwalk. It's our favorite location. Quick access to EPCOT and DHS for some nice dining options.

Thank you. No, Boardwalk is full. Not much available. I'm surprised as I didn't think February would have as many crowds.
You're renting DVC. DVC is designed to be at 98% occupancy year-round; DVC owners typically book at 11 months (where they own) or at 7 months (any DVC resort). You're well within that 7 months. Poly and AKV are available because they're large. The Epcot resorts are small, as is Grand Flo. BLT will generally book up very quickly at 7 months even in low season as well.

Kidani is a separate building from Jambo House; Jambo contains both some DVC villas and the hotel part of Animal Kingdom Lodge. Kidani Village is all DVC villas. Each building has its own pool, although guests can use either. The Quick Service restaurant, the Mara, is at Jambo house, as is Jiko and Boma. Sanaa is at Kidani House.

We stayed at the Poly for our 20th anniversary last year. We had a great time.

My vote would be Poly. I like being "closer to the action" as someone before me said.

I would choose Poly. While I love AKL, it's very remote. Poly has the advantage of not only having quick access to other resorts, MK and EP, the studios are quite new and the resort is beautifully themed. AKL has great restaurants/bars, etc., but the choices are quite limited after a while.
