Our first full day in Disney in May will be our anniversary and wanted to have a nice meal. We have not tried CG or FF and wonder what is recommended between these two. We have a DD in tow so doesn't have to be too quiet or romantic.

We have not tried many fine dining restaurants (have been to Brown Derby, Artist Point and Jiko before but wanted to try somewhere new)

I think you should look at the menus and pick the one that you prefer. Both have their draws. I love the sushi at CG and the view is nice. I have not been blown away by their other courses other than the sushi but it's above average. Flying Fish is one of our favorites. There is no view but the food is excellent.

I would not consider either of these places romantic. CG, especially early or around fireworks time, is packed to the ceiling with people and has bad acoustics with all of the glass so tends to be a bit noisy. FF has an open kitchen which adds to the noise level too.

Both places are fine with children.

California Grill. We have dined here several times on our anniversary and always had a wonderful evening.

During our last trip for our 25th anniversary we dined at both and they were equally good. Take a look at the menus at allearsnet.com and see which you would prefer.

One plus for CG is that it overlooks the Magic Kingdom and you can watch Wishes from there. It might make your anniversary dinner extra special.

I would definitely choose FF. Becasue of the fireworks CG is a madhouse and their reservation system is poorly run. The food although good at both is better at FF IMO. Depending on your reservation time you will have more to do on the Boardwalk or in Epcot before and after dinner so you can make an evening out of it.

This is a tough one since these are two of Disney's best - foodwise I would probably go with Flying Fish. The CG appeal for us is sushi and fireworks more than the dinner menu.

You can not go wrong with either! One thing to consider...the CG might be a little more romantic! The food is FABULOUS at both, but the Flying Fish can be get a little loud. I do not know why, but the acoustics seem to allow for a quieter meal at the CG.

Whichever one you choose, make you let them know that it is your anniversary!!! When you make the reservations and when you check in at the restaurant!!!

Enjoy your special night and Happy Anniversary!!!
