Me and my wife are going for our fifth anniversary Feb 18 through the 21 and we are both so excited we love disneyland. Our dilemma is we have always taken our young kids so not sure what to do as just two adults. I am looking for any unique ideas for just the two of us to do in regards to shows, dinner , or just about anything .

Well I don't think my ideas are unique but I figured I say what me and my hunny have done. We are going back in a couple months to celebrate 13 years.
First I am not sure what kind of eaters you are but I loved getting dressed up and going to dinner at Steakhouse 55. We have eaten at other locations except Carthey (which we are trying in Dec.) and I really wasn't that impressed but with Steakhouse 55 (I am a meat and potatoes gal) I really enjoyed the environment and spending quite time together dressed up. As far as shows and such I cant think of anything that stands out I know we rode in the Lilly Belle and drove the Mark Twain on our anniversary but I am not sure that is a romantic activity (also I don't think you can ride the Lilly Belle the same way anymore). I am sure more will come along with ideas. I am sure whatever you do it will be great!

Here's a thread with a trip report from last year where the poster tells about an anniversary trip. http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=3161590

I've also been to DLR several times solo after working a shift on business trips in Southern California. While I found it somewhat lonely, and definitely better to go with others, it's also great to be able to experience some things that you find a priority but young children might not. I would suggest really enjoying shows and some of the park atmosphere, like the themed performers that are often scheduled for places like Buena Vista Street and New Orleans Square. Young children may not have patience for some of those types of things.

Also, some things that might seem really costly to do with children, might not seem too unreasonable for just the price of two people. For example, the guided tours or some of the fancier or more expensive table service restaurants might be a special treat for an anniversary celebration. I find that as adults, we tend to appreciate those types of things more than a young child might. So the value of them is increased even more.

Also, don't forget to pick up anniversary celebration buttons. You can get them from City Hall in DL or Chamber of Commerce in DCA. Other shops, like World of Disney in Downtown Disney, often carry them as well. Performers and other cast members will notice them and go out of their way to really make your celebration special. You may even get some free desserts from table service restaurants!

Finally, I would suggest finding ways to capture memories of the special trip. Certainly photos are a great way to do that. You can almost always find someone willing to take your picture for you. PhotoPass+ may also be a great way to capture memories. If you are into character meet and greets, photos with just you and your spouse and a character can be such a great memento. But even more personal and special might be to do a couple silhouette at the Silhouette Studio on Main Street. They can put the silhouette of both of you into one frame.

Our boys are now in collage so it's just DH and I going now. One thing we really like is being able to choose what we want to do. The boys always wanted to go Splash Mountain and Matterhorn over and over again! And being boys they were always hungry and ate so much!! The first time we went alone (on our 20th anniversary 5 years ago) one of the things we liked best was going where we wanted. And if we didn't want a big meal, we'd just split something and be good.

We went to Steakhouse 55 for our anniversary dinner and we really liked it. We also now go to Carthay Circle every trip for the WOC package.

Disneyland is a very romantic place as far as I am concerned - especially at night. It can be lovely just to stroll through New Orleans Sq after dark and enjoy all the little shops and alleys. I know it seems like a kiddie ride, but try Storybookland at night too. It's a treat to hold hands while the boat sails through the tiny landscapes with twinkly lights. All the dark rides are good for a snuggle up. I also find the street lighting in Carsland very romantic - at sunset all the neon lights are turned on at once and they play Sh Boom Sh Boom and my husband and I slow dance.

We spent our honeymoon and many anniversaries since at Disneyland resort :)

We love walking the grounds at the Disneyland Hotel. The GCH lobby is a wonderful spot to take everything in and relax , Hearthstone lounge is especially nice.

Steakhouse 55 is a wonderful meal choice for service and ambiance , of course Napa Rose is a favorite as well.

Storybook Canal Boats at night is amazing. I recommend that as well , as suggested above.

Staying until close and walking along the rivers of America with all the lights reflecting on the water , with no rushing crowds is especially peaceful. We try to do this once a trip.

Finding a spot near Star Traders or in the esplanade to catch the fireworks is a personal favorite also. Though you can't hear it all , finding a nice spot to see most of it without the crowds is a nice treat.

Visit Snow White's wishing well is a nice little spot that is rarely too busy.
