so thinking of going to Disney for two nights next week (assuming we can get a room), not planning on doing parks, pretty sure we are out of passes. This is our 20th wedding anniversary, do you have any suggestions of non-park things to do???

thanks in advance!

How about dinner at the California Grill to watch the MK fireworks? DH and I found that romantic when we were there last time. Or just take the monorail around GF, POLY and CR. Walk around them, maybe stop at the bar and have a cocktail if you like that. We had a fun time at the bar at the Poly - great atmosphere. We loved walking around the resorts. We love the boat ride to DTD from OKW. Very relaxing and then you could have a nice meal there. Enjoy you anniversary!

Segway tour at Fort Wilderness
Scuba (need to be certified)or snorkeling tour at Epcot (don't need a pass to get in, but they will leave you out in the park after) The snorkeling tour will get you the same behind the scenes tour as the scuba one, but you snorkel the tank instead of diving it. Their tanks are absolutely amazing and I have dove it 3 times. The tours are expensive, but for an anniversary, could be a lot of fun! And you could have dinner in Epcot after words. The snorkel tour is earlier in the day, and dive tours are at 4:15 and 5:15. Lots of fun!

Ooh, dinner at Narcoosee's just before the fireworks. They pipe in the music to the restaurant and darken it up so you can see the fireworks. If you get a window table, you do not even have to go outside!

Thanks, I like the segway idea, and leaning towards V&A's for dinner if we can pull it all off last minute. Self employed and all of a sudden very very busy!! Which is good, but stinks as for timing, just not sure if we can get three days away next week!!

CA grill is far from romantic with kids running around everywhere. It's become a madhouse over the past couple of years. I would recomend Victoria and Alberts if you're fine with dropping $400 between the two of you.

If we can make it happen, I think that is the route I am going to take! But it just isn't looking very good! Not a happy camper right now!!

Sending you Pixie Dust to make this happen! Victoria and Alberts would be a wonderful place to celebrate.

All of the above are good thoughts. Another suggestion would be dinner and Cirque du Soleil at DD.

Keep trying for Victoria and Alberts. Call even the day you are there. People cancel reservations all the time. One of the reasons it is so hard toget ADRs is that alot of people make several for the same night and then cancel all but the one they want at the last minute. So don't give up.

I know some things we are planning to do on our 1st no park trip is:

~ segway tour at EPCOT (yeah I know I said no parks but this isnt just your run of the mill park visit :goodvibes)
~ resort hopping...stop in and have a drink in each lounge or pool bar, get to know the resorts and take walks around the scenery, take pics of eachother and people watch
~ horseback riding in FW
~ DTD - shopping, movies, dining
~Cirque - definitely grab a show and marvel in the talent
~ try your hand at mini golf - whoever wins buys ice cream at Beaches & Cream
~ Jellyrolls for entertainment, and just general Boardwalk carousing
~ ESPN - are you sports fans? grab a seat at the bar to watch the game

I am sending pixie dust your way that it all works out! pixiedust:

Happy Anniversary!!

thanks everyone, I already ran payroll early for next week! But looks like hubby is still buried with work, (finally busy!!), just hired back three guys, but still swamped! Airfare up a little, but not much, if I can't use points, I am sure I can book cash somewhere! My dream for our 20th was Tahiti, but didn't do it because daughter graduates high school in two weeks, so even if we pull off the trip last minute, still cheaper than tahiti!! will save that for the 25th!! ;)

hey clara - was just in your part of town on my through to my moms in the Poconos. We always stop at Blue Colony Diner coming and going! Love those pastries! :goodvibes

Congratulations!!! I am celebrating my 25th next week, we leave Saturday - I wanted Hawaii - but DH had no work for about 3 months last summer and I was afraid to spend the money. A couple of months ago, I ran across a nice price for airfare, called MS and was able to get into SSR - we have never stayed there so looking forward to it.

We are eating at Californai Grill - looked into V&A - But still nervous about spending money. Also have tickets for LaNouba - with the DVC discount.

What about some spa treatments for the two of you???

Will make the decision tonight, depends on a job getting completed, ugh! joys of construction and self employment! but I called and rooms are available, just can't be picky, and Grand Floridian is available on points also, so that is an option, SSR is open, so thinking spa stuff, that would be the place to stay and just take taxi to V&A's of we do it! not sure I want to be dressed up and riding busses in the heat!! Mentioned suit to hubby and that went over like a led balloon! but he will have to suck it up!! ;)

I hope everything works out for you. I would definitely take a cab. You don't want to me looking your best and have to take a bus.
