Anniversary Dinner - California Grill or Narcoossee's?

Hi All,

I need your help again. We are going to Disney for our Three Year Anniversary and we are really torn where to eat the night of our Anniversary.

• We have been to California Grill before and loved it, we were thinking of going during wishes to see the fireworks, we did this last time.
  
• Our second choice is Narcoossee's, we both like the menu but feel it might be too quiet but it could be romantic there.

We plan on heading to the MK afterwards so either restaurant works!

Let me know your thinkings!

We've been to both (with our DDs) and really liked both of them. I would say California Grill took longer. I think I was getting more restless than the kids even. It was a long meal. Narcoossees was louder. However, if I would choose between the 2 I would try Narcoossees. DH & I both loved our meals there. The service was excellent and the restaurant itself was beautiful. As another suggestion, if you want something a little more romantic, you could try Citricos at GF as well.

Thanks for your comments. We are on the dining plan and have 2 credits to use, that is why we shortlisted to California Grill and Narcoossees. We have done Jikos last two trips. We haven't done California Grill since our wedding and never done Narcoossees.

I didn't vote because I've only been to California Grill, most recently this past Saturday. It was a mad house - so much louder and crazier than I remember from our last visit. Children running around everywhere - and yes, I expect kids there, but i don't let my children run around in any restaurant, particulary a signature restaurant. Upon entering and waiting for my table, it lost its signature flair for me. No one was dressed nice, lots of jeans, and the bartender was so overwhelmed it took him 20 minutes to serve two people. Once we got to our table, it was totally different. We were seated in the wine room, and it was so peaceful back there - with a great view of the Epcot fireworks and electric water parade. Our waiter could not have been more accomodating. It was a fabulous meal. So overall, the good outweighed the bad. If you say Narcoossees is romantic, I'd stick with that, or see if you can get the wine room at California Grill for a quieter experience. If you want a busier experience, then you would like it just fine.

I don't think either of these places are romantic and the food is better at Ca Grill. Narcoosees can be quiet but our last 2 visits here have been anything but. It's more casual than CG but if the menu appeals to you, I'd say it's always nice to try a new place.

I just went to both. Overall, I preferred California Grill. There was nothing wrong with Narcoossee's; the food was excellent, service was good, and it was quieter than the California Grill. But at California Grill, the food was more impressive, the view is wonderful, and the service was better. It just felt like a more special meal.

We were at both restaurants for fireworks. At Narcoossee's, we went out on the deck after our appetizers. At CA Grill, we watched from our table before dessert.

CG was like a zoo when we went in Oct. We left the MK returned to our room to shower and dress for dinner. I have no idea why we bothered because most others were in park casual. The kids on the table next to ours were standing on their chairs!!! Food was good but not as good as Jikos where we ate a few days earlier.

I'd rather go almost anywhere other than Cali Grill for an anniversary - too busy, too noisy, too frantic, view or not.

Never been to Narcoossee's but I voted for it anyway.

We had a nice anniversary dinner at Narcoossee's a couple years back. Quiet it isn't but it had nice mood lighting, i.e., it was pretty dark. Our meal was delicious. It's more our atmosphere, I guess. CG was crazy loud and busy last time we were there, beautiful view and food is generally believed to be a notch better, but, other than the view, I find it kind of sterile.

I think you would really like Narcoosee's. You can watch Wishes from your table or the deck. The food is yummy and the service was great. It is a little quieter than the California Grill if you're going earlier. It's also fun to take the launch from the GF dock over to MK. They are both great restaurants so I think you'll end up happy wherever you decide to eat!

narcoossees is my favorite restaurant on property. very romantic, wishes is beautiful from there, and the food is teriffic!

We had a very disappointing meal at Narcoossee's on 12/27, and we will not be returning there on our upcoming trip. Both service and food were problems, and the service issues were not just the fault of our server but started with being seated. California Grill was much better.

Here's another who's favorite WDW restaurant is Narcoossee's. I love the menu, the food is excellent, I have always had great service(3 visits), and the view is excellent for the Electic Water Pagent and the Wishes fireworks.

I tried California Grill a few weeks ago: I liked it but for me it just was not as good as Narcoosee's. I'd go again, but if I had to choose between the two it's Narcoossee's.

We've done both and in my opinion, California Grill is quite the best. The food at Narcosees did not impress. Not much ambiance and it's noisy, although a nice view. California Grill is classy and you can't beat the fireworks view. We eat at California Grill each trip and have never had a bad experience. Just returned on Sunday and our meal there was wonderful.
