We will be in VB in a couple weeks celebrating our 10th wedding anniversary. I booked a beach cottage and my sister and her family and my dad and his girlfriend will be joining us. My dad has offered to watch all the kids so us adults can celebrate our anniversary.

Any restaurants you can recommend? Since we will be going sans children, I am looking for a more adult atmosphere. Thanks for any help!

The Ocean Grill in VB seems to be a popular place. I'd skip the Captain Hiram's/Squid Lips kind of places. They're touristy and not really what I'd call anniversary dinner atmosphere. Another place I read about but didn't make it to (didn't seem kid friendly and we decided not to leave the kids at the kids' club) is Tango's in VB.

I agree that Capt. Hiram's, Squid Lips are "touristy," but they have music, nice to listen to. They are Florida touristy, Squid Lips is on a pier over the water, and Capt. Hiram's along the shore. I like them.

I hope to try Ocean Grill someday, I'm just commenting on what I know.

PS. Have a wonderful 10th anniversary!

Thanks for the help! I will do a search on these restaurants to see what I can find out.

Thanks for the well wishes Bobbi!

We've been to both Cap't Hiram's and Ocean Grill - Ocean Grill is more quiet, traditional with excellent food and view, while Hiram's is more casual/beach/party type of atmosphere, so it depends what you're looking for. Personally, I'd recommend Ocean Grill and save Hiram's for an afternoon lunch & drink - you can even take the kids there!

Ok, wow. I just looked up the Ocean grill online and it said they only take reservations for parties of 5 or more (we will be a party of 4). I want to order a cake for our anniversary, so I decided to call. Before I could get my sentence out, the woman interrupts me and says again (since she already said it when she answered the phone) "And how can I help you?"

So rude! I am appalled that she would be so blatantly rude to me when I was trying to state that I was planning a 10 year anniversary dinner. Wow, I am just in shock.

I know this is not conveying properly through typing, but she was curt and rude.

We were with friends who were celebrating their anniversary, everything was EXCELLENT - nice atmosphere, attentive wait staff -

about 10-15 minutes drive from the resort - but well worth it!

They even put candles in the White choc cheesecake for the anniversary!

I cant seem to find the menu, but it was a good mix of seafood and non-seafood.

Hope this helps.

I haven't eaten there but Tangoes/Tangos got excellent reviews on several restaurant type boards. We checked out the menu and peeked in the window definitely an adult place. I've eaten at the Ocean Grill and quite frankly thought that it was not that good. We felt that the food was overpriced for the surroundings.

Here's another one that's been mentioned on this board in the past.... we haven't eaten here - despite best intentions... but I really want to try it. It's down close to the Ocean Grille.
