I feel like I'm finally on my way to eating the way I've always wanted to. Growing up we never really had junk food in the house - I considered a spoonful of peanut butter a "snack". As I got older and started choosing my own foods, I wasn't choosing wisely. Then I tried diet after diet after diet, but always felt like I needed to be able to work in the chips or the ice cream or the cake. And I know that when I did, that was the source of my guilt that would eventually bring my downfall. I'm not saying I can never have those, but I was looking to work them in almost every day. No more.
With the help of a very dear friend of mine who gave me a plan and to follow along with some great advice, and some really tough questions to answer for myself, I'm ready to begin. I also admire her because she's been there, having lost 80 pounds herself and eventually competed in fitness competitions. She no longer competes, but is running the NY Marathon this November and she blogs. www.fitarella.com if you're interested, but I warn you, she's earthy - but that's why I love her!
Anyhow, I began today, and to add a little serendipity, my Clean Diet Book along with my Clean Diet Cookbook came from Amazon today and the recipes look simple and amazing!. I'm so excited! I'll admit, even today I didn't follow the plan to a T - I'm supposed to have eaten more than I did, but truthfully I have been full ALL DAY LONG. Tomorrow I'll cut back the oatmeal to have the size and see if that helps.
Breakfast
1cup Plain oatmeal
2stp agave sweetner
cinnamon spice blend
Pomegranate Protein shake w/soy milk
1/2 banana
Lunch
2 eggs (I should only eat one yolk, but Dr. says I need lutein and yolks are a the best source)
1/4c. ricotta cheese
1 Tbsp. Romano Cheese
pear
Snack
Peanut butter fudge bars (clean recipe and so delicious! PM me if you want it!)
Green tea w/agave
Dinner
Pork loin w/garlic and rosemary
roasted brussel sprouts w/a little olive oil and salt.
Beverages - Water throughout the day.
I check in with my friend next week - wish me luck!
