Me (22) princess:
My Sister (24) who we’ll call DSis pirate:
My Mum (48) who we’ll call DM :wizard:

Left Dad and DBF at home for an all girls trip to DLP. We stayed at the Sequoia Lodge for 4 nights (July 12th – July 16th). Figured people might find our dining reviews helpful for upcoming trips.

Annette’s Diner (Dinner) – Wednesday 12th July
We went here on our first night after many recommendations from people at home. It is set out like a 1950’s diner and is very well themed.

I ordered the Fifty – Fifty Combo Burger (€13.50) and a cherry sprite to drink.
DSis ordered ??
DM ordered the Annette’s Favorite Menu (Be Bop Burger, drink and a Brownie a la mode - €17.50).

I thought my Fifty-Fifty Combo Burger would be the best invention in the world of burgers. It was good but the flavours of each meat seemed to take over each other so I couldn’t really tell there was a chicken fillet in there. It was served with fries and coleslaw. It was very good value for the €13.50 charged. It was incredibly filling and I couldn’t manage to clear my plate.

I have no idea what DSis ordered – it escapes me but I’m pretty sure it was a burger and I remember she enjoyed it.

DM also enjoyed her burger. The mushrooms inside were very tasty. Hers was probably the best value of the lot as she got a beer as her drink and the dessert was fantastic. To us, “brownie a la mode” suggests a plain chocolate brownie. Instead it came topped with whipped cream and a cherry as well as ice-cream on the side. I’m not sure if it was a kitchen mistake or if it was correct but it was very welcome! We all shared this dessert as there was too much for one person after such a big main meal.

Annette’s was probably the best value meal we found at DLP. Well worth a visit (though there were no skating waitresses!)

Thanks for these reviews - great idea :thumbsup2

I agree that Annette's is the best place for decent food, at a reasonable price. It is a shame that they don't seem to have the roller skating waiter/resses any more - always fun!!! :teeth:

This is one of our favourites. Troops have always enjoyed the food and the plate that is a frisbee is a nice touch :)

Thanks for the review! :thumbsup2 We've not been to Annettes but are planning to rectify that in a few week's time! :teeth:

A friend of mine visited recently and I don't think there was any roller skating but she said the servers did a rendition of Grease on the table tops. :dancer: :dancer: :dancer:

Nope. "a la mode" in America means with cream (though I'm suprised by the ice cream) Have no idea why they use that phrase though!!

We loved Annettes last year I can highly recommend the BALTO for those who are not big burger fans and thekid's pasta comes recommended from DD (3).

PS we were there last September and had both dancing and skating waiting staff !

I went here before but only for like 20 minutes as we had to go meet someone in Paris! However we got served in 10 minutes which I thought was quite impressive :)

Everywhere I have been at in the US (as well East Coast, West Coast as in between those two), a la mode meant with ice cream.
