Anna Maria Island? How far from Disney?

Well... we've decided we're going to end our week at Anna Maria Island. We were considering the Clearwater/St. Pete beach area... but after some researching, I've decided that Anna Maria Island fits "us" better. Seems more laid back, less congested... not like a "concrete" beach with highrises and neon signs. The pictures on the net are gorgeous... lots of lush landscape and more of a "tropical" feel - also lots of great restaurants, boutique shops and of course - beautiful beaches!

Anyone know how long of a drive it would be from Kissimmee?

Thanks!

Normally it's just short of 3 hours, but there is major road construction on I-4 between WDW and Tampa. I'd be prepared for the possibility of it taking much longer.

If you haven't booked yet, you might try Siesta Key. It is gorgeous, and maybe ten minutes south of Anna Maria.
In the past, I've driven it in less than 2 Hrs.

Mapquest says 2hrs. 9 Min to Siesta Key.

Look at www.siesta4rent.com

Already booked Anna Maria... but Siesta Key sounds beautiful!

I think I'm more excited about the island than I am Disney (sorry if that offends anyone). :confused3

Can't wait to goooo!

Anna Maria is very nice. Stayed there 2 years ago at Bermuda Bay Condos. Very nice. If you like it, you should try Sanibel some day if you haven't already.

it is exactly 100 miles on I4 ( 90 minutes ) and then around 20 minutes from the I4 exit bradenton to anna maria island .. have fun there it is gorgeous !!!
