I don't have girls so I have never done princess meets and greets. What is the best strategy for a family with three girls that is planning a last minute one day MK trip on May 31 to be able to see them without waiting for hours? If they go there first at rope drop what will times be like? Any better suggestions?

Try for a FP (they will most likely be all gone). Second strategy would be to arrive at MK at least 30 minutes prior to opening and at rope drop head directly to the meet and greet. They'll have to wait in line, but hopefully not too long.

Others tell me that rope drop is crazy and they will have to wait forever if they do that. Yes all fast passes are gone.

First, the wait isn't ever hours long anymore. They might wait up to an hour if they time things poorly.

I would avoid the RD frenzy myself and either try at 10:30 (when the RDers have already been through), during one of the parades or Wishes, or just prior to closing. Over the dinner hour might work well, too.

We went Tuesday night around 10:00 and waited about 20 minutes. Then hopped in the Cinderella/Rapunzel line and only waited 5 min. I've found late at night is best for characters that will be at the park until close.

Agree with the late night visit. We only waited about 30 minutes the last hour.

If they can get reservations for breakfast at Be Our Guest for that day, they will be in Fantasyland before the park opens and can be among the very first in line - they will release the breakfast folks before the main gate crowd gets back to Fantasyland.

The reservations are probably all taken now, but times may open up as people make last-minute changes. They don't all need the same time (just any time before 9:00 and they can all go together) and they don't all need to order a breakfast - they can share or just get drinks.
